Wendy’s Flatbread #6SecondsFlat Sweepstakes

Good afternoon!

I have never been a big meat eater and even now I usually stick to fish, but Danny is a huge meat eater. When I saw the new Wendy’s chicken flatbreads, I knew they’d be something that he’d like (I really love flatbread myself too).

Wendy’s Flatbread Chicken Sandwiches are back for a limited time – Asiago Ranch (it has bacon on it) and Smoky Honey Mustard.

The Smoky Honey Mustard flatbread is served on a toasted multigrain flatbread and has 370 calories, 3 grams of fiber, and 22 grams of protein.

Some days you just need some fries.

Wendy’s is having a #6SecondsFlat sweepstakes that you can enter and be one of the weekly winners:

Tell  Wendy’s what you think about their flatbreads in a Vine or Instagram video then send it @Wendys (through twitter, Instagram or Vine) with the #6SecondsFlat tag and #RunEatPlay6 tag. Each week of September, one lucky winner will be randomly selected to receive a $6000 prize.

Here’s the #6SecondsFlat video I made on Instagram. If your volume is up, I apparently thought the whole thing was really funny :)

Today’s Workout

  • BodyPump – 60 minutes

Today’s BodyPump class was full of a lot of new people. I taught three tracks – squats, chest, and back. It’s a lot harder doing the moves and teaching than it is just taking the class. By the time I was done, I was exhausted.

I messed up once on the back track but luckily the instructor was there to get me back on track. At home, I can do it perfect without any notes but when I am in front of a group, I just get too nervous and need my notes to fall back on even though I know it. Oh well. Practice makes perfect.

My family is coming over on Sunday for dinner and to watch the Bears game so after the gym, I stopped at Target to get some stuff that I’m going to make for dinner. I couldn’t pass up this cute Halloween decoration!

Tonight, my mom is coming over to watch the kids so Danny and I can go out to dinner. We’re going to Maggiano’s and I can’t wait to eat!

  • Do you eat fast food often? Favorite?
  • Where was the last place you went out for dinner?
  • Any plans this weekend?

Thanks to Wendy’s for sponsoring today’s post, allowing Danny to enjoy these tasty Flatbreads before they are gone. All opinions are my own.

Tooth Fairy

Last night we went to Wendy’s for dinner. I keep seeing commercials for their new fish sandwich on tv, so when Wendy’s coupons came in the mail, we decided to go for dinner. Of course, I regretted my decision as soon as the last of my 457 fries touched my lips.

First, the fish sandwich wasn’t that great. I ate it, but I’d never order it again. Second, eating Wendy’s isn’t exactly a great way to get fitting back into your jeans. Then, Danny and I shared a frosty. Great.

Today, I am going to try to start writing down my food in my food journal again. I stopped after my appointment with the nutritionist awhile back, so I’m hoping that writing everything down will get me back on track. I just hating writing everything down. It’s such a pain.

Yesterday, Jacob lost a tooth. And when Danny went to tuck him into bed, he told Danny that he hid the tooth for the tooth fairy. So, I went in there and told Jacob that the tooth fairy only comes if you leave your tooth under your pillow.

Jacob went on to tell me that he knows that there is no tooth fairy or Santa Claus and it’s just us leaving the money and presents. I told him that if he didn’t put his tooth under his pillow that he wouldn’t get anything for it, regardless of who was leaving the money.

Then, I did what any normal mom would do in the situation. I flew around the room pretending to be the tooth fairy.

Danny came in and told me that I looked more like a chicken flapping his wings than the tooth fairy. Thanks.

Jacob ended up putting his tooth on a little shelf right above his pillow, because there’s a gap between his bed and the wall, and I was afraid the tooth would fall. When Danny went into his room early this morning to swap out the tooth and a dollar, the tooth was gone.

Jacob hid it under his book. Finally, the tooth fairy got her baby tooth and Jacob got his dollar.

Also, yesterday, I signed up for my first 5k of the year on Mother’s Day. Gigi and Marlene are running the race too. I ran this same race last year, and didn’t do very well. Last year, it was my first time running outside since the previous fall – so about 6 months.

This year I want to do better, so I signed up for a Walk 2 Run program. I have run plenty of 5ks and one 10k, but I don’t run much in the winter months and I’m not very fast, so I’m hoping that this Walk 2 Run program will help me ease back into running. I also haven’t been running for a few weeks because my calves have been so tight.

The Walk 2 Run program starts in the middle of March and ends right around the time of the Mother’s Day 5K in May, so the timing is perfect. It also includes mini-clinics on nutrition, stretching, and shoe selection.

Question of the day:

  • How old was your child (or you) when they stopped believing in the tooth fairy? I know that Jacob’s too old to believe, but I don’t want him to spoil it for Jaden.
  • Did you put your tooth under your pillow as a child? What did you get?
  • What’s your favorite restaurant? Do you ever eat fast food?
