YoYummy Yogurt Review

Recently, I was given the opportunity to sample YoYummy yogurt through the Moms Meet program.

My kids love yogurt and they really love eating foods that are in pouches, so they loved trying these yogurts!

I love that these yogurts are great for kids of any age (and adults too!) My two-year old niece loves YoYummy yogurt.

My six-year old loves YoYummy, and so did my 12-year old and the 12-year old girl that I watch in the afternoons.

It’s the perfect after school snack for all the kids! And they’re great for putting in lunchboxes or as a snack before bed. My kids always seem to be starving right when it’s time for bed.

Some YoYummy Facts:

  • YoYummy yogurts come in four great flavors: mixed berry, strawberry banana, strawberry, and cotton candy. (In our house, the cotton candy was the most loved flavor).
  • YoYummy yogurt is made with Grade-A rBST-free Vermont milk. They are also a good source of calcium and rich in vitamins A and D.
  • 10% less sugar than the leading national brands kids’ yogurt.
  • Free of high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, additives, and preservatives. It’s also gluten-free.
  • YoYummy yogurt is available at Wegman’s, Costco, Hannaford, Stew Leonard’s, Fresh & Easy, and Sprout’s Farmer Markets. Retails for $4.99 for a 4-pack, $9.99 for a 12-pack, and $1.29 for a single pouch.

As you can see, YoYummy yogurt is a snack that you can feel good about giving your kids!

National Geographic Kids Books

I have always loved to read. Always. Even as a kid, I was always reading. I think that it’s important for parents to encourage their kids to read things that they enjoy. Kids will learn to love reading more if they read things that they want to read rather than something they’re forced to read.

I believe in encouraging kids to read what they enjoy whether it’s a book, a comic book, or the sports section of the newspaper. When Jacob was younger he used to love to read the dictionary and medical books. He still loves reading now, and we often read a lot of the same book (I’m not really sure what that says about my reading level :) )

I always make it a point to take my kids to the library, book store, or let them pick out a book from their book club orders at school.

So, when Mom’s Meet approached me about reviewing the National Geographic Kids books, I was happy to take the opportunity.

I received a big box of National Geographic Kids books in the mail.

I was very excited to see the variety of the books. I have four kids at home in the afternoons (my two boys, my niece, and another girl I watch), and they range from ages 2-12. The National Geographic books are great because their geared at kids of all ages and reading levels. There is something for everyone!

National Geographic books are full of photos, fun facts, and offer the perfect educational balance.

Jacob (my 12 year old) loves The Ultimate Weird but True and First Big Book of Why books.

He is the type of kid that craves knowledge and knows more random facts than anyone I know.

Jaden (my 6 year old) loves the animal books, especially the Meerkats book.

These books are great for me to read to him and my niece and for Jaden to practice reading on his own.

The pictures in the book are fantastic and really hold a kid’s attention.

National Geographic books provide visual stimulation, active engagement, and are great educational learning material.

All in all, National Geographic Kids are great books that would make any kid want to read. I really like that National Geographic focuses on how to make kids enjoy reading more.

They have four main goals:

  • Get kids super excited about reading
  • Build reading focus and stamina
  • Encourage kids to higher reading levels
  • Empower kids to learn more about their world

You can learn more here. National Geographic definitely met these goals with my children!

  • Do you like to read?
  • Did you read as a child? What were your favorite books?

I was provided the National Geographic Kids books by Mom’s Meet to review on my blog at no charge. All opinions are my own (and my kids!).

Jamba Juice Smoothie Review

As a Moms Meet blogger, I was recently given the opportunity to try out two new smoothies from Jamba Juice.

The new Tropical Harvest smoothie from the regular menu and the new Jamba Kids Berry Beet It! Smoothie from the kids menu.

The kids and I went to Jamba Juice and ordered our smoothies. If you ask, Jamba Juice will split one smoothie into two cups for the kids.

The new Tropical Harvest Smoothie is made with mangos, peaches, and passion fruit juice blended with juices from butternut squash, sweet potato and carrot. It is dairy-free and gluten-free with only 230 calories.

The Jamba Kids Berry Beet It! Smoothie is made with strawberries, mangos, bananas, and mixed berry juice with carrots, beets, broccoli, spinach, kale, and lettuce. It’s also dairy and gluten free with only 190 calories.

I know what you’re thinking when you read the descriptions of the smoothies because I thought the same thing: there’s no way that my kids are going to drink a smoothie with carrots, beets, broccoli, spinach, kale, and lettuce.

But you know what? You can’t taste any vegetables in either smoothie. They were both sweet, smooth, and delicious. And my kids loved them. Jaden gave the Kids Berry Beet It Smoothie two thumbs up.

Both kids finished their whole smoothie and then asked to drink some of mine.

The Tropical Harvest smoothie was also excellent. Very fruity tasting. I was a little nervous to taste the kid’s smoothie after my experience with the beet juice from my juice cleanse, but I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted it – it was delicious.

Both smoothies were something that I would order again. They are a great way to get your kids to eat their veggies, and a great way to get extra veggies in your own diet. The sweetness from the fruit overpowers the taste of the smoothie, so you don’t even know you’re drinking veggies.

I didn’t tell the kids what was in the smoothie beforehand and had them guess what flavors they tasted. They both said strawberries and raspberries (there were no raspberries in it though) and neither of them guessed there were any veggies in it.

Definitely some delicious new smoothies from Jamba Juice! To learn more about Jamba Juice’s new smoothies, check out their Facebook page.

Sambazon Juices and Smoothies + A Giveaway!

Last Night’s Workout

  • 4 miles outside, hot

*Note to self: Avoid evening runs at all costs.

Somehow, I went from having the best run of my life to having the worst run. I think it was a mix of running at night, already working out that morning, and the heat that made my run so horrible. I ran at about 6:15 pm last night and it was still 90 degrees outside.

I brought my hand-held water bottle with me, but halfway through my run the water was already hot. My body and legs just didn’t want to cooperate. I had to take a lot of walk breaks. The positive side is that I finished. I ran/walked my 4 miles and didn’t give up.

I could hardly walk into the house when I got home and immediately went to take a cold shower. Then, I made a strawberry peach smoothie for dinner…and chocolate cheerios with almond milk :)

Speaking of post workout food…

I was recently sent some Sambazon juice and smoothie products to try out through the Moms Meet program.

First they sent me this wooden bowl and spoon, which I love!

The bowl is really big and the bigger the bowl, the more cereal you can fit in it! They also sent me some coupons to pick up some Sambazon juices and smoothies to try out.

About Sambazon : I picked out the Acai with blueberry and pomegranate superfood juice blend and the protein acai berry + vanilla superfood smoothie (I love my protein!). The acai juices have powerful antioxidants and healthy omegas. The protein smoothies have 8g – 10g of organic vegan whole food protein per bottle and healthy omegas. The protein smoothie is perfect as a post workout snack. Protein helps build lean muscle.

Sambazon also has energy flavors, supergreens with kale and ginger, and a blended breakfast drink which has grains, chia, and organic/non-GMO verified soymilk.

I just saw on the Sambazon website that they have a energy mocha java superfood smoothie that I must get my hands on!

Not very surprisingly, I drank the acai berry and vanilla protein smoothie first. I thought it was great. It’s not chalky tasty like some protein drinks are, and tasted good. I love the mix of the acai berry and vanilla. The acai with blueberry and pomegranate was also really good. Of course, Jaden needs to help me sample everything :)

Studying the bottle:

Sambazon is offering one lucky winner a prize pack including three free product vouchers and a wooden bowl and spoon!
