Stretch Island Fruit and Skeeter Snacks Giveaway

I’m always looking for new and healthy snacks for my kids to eat, especially during the summer when we’re always on the go, and I need easy, yet healthy, snacks to throw in my purse. Recently, Stretch Island Fruit sent me some fruit rolls and fruit strips to try out.

When the box arrived, Jacob and Jaden were super excited to dig into the snacks (especially Jaden!)

As a mom, I love that the Stretch Island Fruit products are made of all-natural fruit and contain 1/2 to 1 full serving of fruit each. The kids just love them because they taste good.

And they’re not just good for kids. I love to throw a few of these in my purse for a snack for myself, especially when I’m craving something sweet, which is, let’s face it, all the time.

In addition to the Stretch Fruit Island snacks, I also received some cookies from a new company called Skeeter Snacks. These are great for a pre-portioned dessert and the best part is that they are completely peanut-free. Every cookie is peanut-free and the Skeeter Snacks facility is completely nut-free. The company was started by two dads with nut-allergic kids. You go, dads!

These cookies are perfect for Jacob because he is allergic to peanuts. Luckily, his allergy isn’t extremely severe, but they are a lot of kid’s whose peanut allergies are severe. But these cookies are made in a completely peanut-free facility. I love it! Maybe if my brother’s lucky, I’ll share some with him because he’s allergic to nuts too.

I actually plan on hiding the SkeeterDoodle cookies for myself. Snickerdoodles are one of my all time favorite cookies! And despite the name, the don’t contain any Snickers or nuts. And the nutrition facts really aren’t that bad. 170 calories for two cookies – perfect for an after dinner treat.

The kid’s ate the chocolate chunk cookies and loved them. I may have taken a bite…

The best part? How about a giveaway so that you can try your own Stretch Island Fruit and Skeeter Snacks?!

Mix1 Protein Shake Giveaway

Good Evening!

Recently, I was contacted by Mix1 to try out their all-natural protein shakes. I’m always looking for ways to add protein to my diet and for a post-workout snack.

What really sold me on these shakes is that they just came out with a lean performance shake that has only 90 calories and 9 grams of protein! That’s better nutritional stats than my normal post-workout chocolate milk.

Ftom the Mix1 website:

mix1 products contain only the highest-quality, all-natural ingredients including whey protein, carbohydrates, antioxidants, soluble fiber and healthy fat. We use the right balance of these ingredients, at efficacious levels, to provide the maximum benefit to your body before a workout, after a workout, or throughout your day.

I had the vanilla mix1 lean performance drink after BodyPump this morning, and not only is it low-cal and high protein, but it actually taste good. I don’t care if something has a bunch of protein and low calories, if it doesn’t taste good, I don’t want to eat or drink it.

The regular mix1 shake has 190 calories and 15 grams of protein. Danny drank the chocolate flavor after his workout, and he said he liked it.

Now on to the fun stuff! The nice people at Mix1 are giving away a four pack of mix1 protein shakes and a t-shirt to two lucky winners!

To enter:

  •  Tweet something along the lines of “I can’t wait to try out @mix1″ Comment and let me know you did.
  • Like Mix1 on Facebook and comment on their with something like “RunEatPlay sent me over to check out Mix1!” Comment and let me know you did.

Van’s Power Grains Waffles + A Giveaway!

It’s no surprise how much I love Van’s blueberry waffles. I eat them all the time.

Well, I recently discovered that Van’s just came out with a Power Grains waffle that has 10 grams of protein per serving! That’s great for someone like me who doesn’t eat meat (I do eat fish occasionally), and is looking for ways to add more protein to my diet.

Van’s was nice enough to send me some coupons so I could try out their Power Grains waffles, as well as their new English muffins and muffin crowns.

You better believe that I hauled my butt to the store asap to pick those up. I was able to find the Power Grain waffles and English muffins at Dominick’s.

I went to Target to get the wild blueberry muffin crowns. I love muffins (especially blueberry!) but I don’t always love all the calories in a normal size muffin. The Van’s blueberry muffin crowns only have 110 calories.

On Friday morning, I made the Power Grains waffles for breakfast. I added a tablespoon of low-cal sugar on top.

180 calories and 10 grams of protein for two waffles! 205 calories with the syrup.

While they were cooking, I smelled cinnamon. I checked the ingredients, and sure enough, cinnamon was listed. I was pleasantly surprised with the taste. I was kind of expecting these to taste “healthy”, but they were good. They didn’t have an overpowering cinnamon taste, which I liked. I like cinnamon, but only a slight cinnamon flavor. And they were nice and thick like the blueberry waffles.

I think these would be awesome with peanut butter and fresh blueberries. I’m going to try that out next time.

I was also super excited to try the honey wheat English muffins.

Nutrition Facts:

I made mine a sandwich with two egg whites, a slice of provolone cheese, and some raspberry fruit spread. Delicious!

This sandwich will definitely be making its way into my daily breakfast rotation.

I’ll be trying the muffins soon, and will let you know how they are.

Van’s was nice enough to send a lot of coupons, and I believe in sharing the wealth, so I will be choosing two lucky winners to win a coupon good for a free Van’s product.

The first winner will get a coupon good for one free Van’s 6 or 8-count Waffle Sticks, Pancake, or French Toast Sticks.

The second winner will get a coupon good for any one Van’s 4-count Muffin Crowns.

How to Enter:

  • Leave a comment below telling me what your favorite breakfast food is.

  • Like Run Eat Play on Facebook. Leave me a comment saying you did.
  • Follow me on Twitter. Leave me a comment saying you did.

That’s it! Three easy ways to enter!

Other stuff:

Giveaway runs until Wednesday night. Winners will be posted on Thursday. Please contact me within 2-3 days if you’re a winner. These coupons expire at the end of June, so I want to get them mailed out asap. US residents only please.

Good Luck!

Skinny Pop PopCorn Giveaway

Last week at my weight loss challenge meeting, one of the other women mentioned Skinny Pop Popcorn. Being a huge popcorn lover (Danny and I eat popcorn almost every night), I had to check it out.

Skinny Pop has no artificial anything and only 39 calories per cup!

For a serving of three and a half cups, that’s only 135 calories. And it’s healthier than microwave popcorn. It only has three ingredients: all natural popcorn, sunflower oil, and salt.

The best part: it tastes delicious. I will definitely being switching from my almost nightly microwave popcorn to Skinny Pop.

Skinny Pop was generous enough to send me some Skinny Pop Popcorn.

Lots of Skinny Pop Popcorn. And I believe in sharing the wealth, so I am going to personally send three bags to three lucky readers. (US only, please).

All you have to do to win is comment on this post and tell me what your favorite snack is. It’s that easy! So comment and enter. I will pick three winners on Monday!

Don’t forget to check out the Skinny Pop Facebook page and my Facebook page!

thinkThin thinkWellness Bar Giveaway

Happy Friday everyone! What better way to start the weekend than with a giveaway!

Giveaway ends February 22, 2012

It’s no secret here on Run Eat Play that I love thinkThin bars.

Last year, I worked as a tutor for four hours a day, so I didn’t get a break to eat. I would throw a thinkThin bar in my purse to nibble on during work. Regular thinkThin bars have 20 grams of protein and thinkThin crunch bars have 10 grams, so I was always satisfied until dinner. And 0 grams of sugar!

Now, I love thinkThin bars as a post workout snack or just an easy snack to grab. You know what I love most about thinkThinbars though? They taste good. They don’t taste like cardboard or chewing on sticks.

thinkThin is having a thinkWellness giveaway in which 10 (yes, 10!) lucky readers will receive a Weight Wellness Sampler Pack – 2 thinkThin protein bars and 2 thinkThin crunch bars. Awesomesauce!

To Enter:

The giveaway ends February 22nd 2012, on thinkThin Wellness Wednesday, so don’t forget to check back and see if you’ve won!
