February 20th

Happy Monday – back to the work and school week! And it’s President’s Day, so both kids were home today. Jaden was actually born on Lincoln’s birthday.

Breakfast

This morning, I had a clementine, grapes, and key lime Greek yogurt for breakfast before going to the gym with the kids.

The key lime flavor is so good. I have to remember to buy it more often.

Today’s Workout

  • BodyPump
  • 12 minutes recumbent bike

BodyPump  attendance was actually double the size today than it normally is. A lot of people must have off work for President’s Day. Lunges still suck. I have been doing BodyPump since October, and I have yet to get used to doing lunges. I definitely struggle with lunges the most.  I used my normal BodyPump weights today, and my shoulder was fine.

After BodyPump, I did a quick 12 minutes on the bike and then had half an Odwalla chocolate protein monster drink.

Lunch

This afternoon, I made a veggie flatbread pizza with red onion, red & green pepper, and broccoli. I also had another clementine on the side.

I added a mini glass of Silk chocolate milk for some protein.

The weather here in Illinois has been nice and sunny for the past few days, so I took the kids outside to play. I put McCutie in her stroller, but she didn’t last too long before she got angry. I think maybe it was just a bit too chilly for her. Or maybe the sun was in her eyes.

Jaden found an empty alcohol bottle in our front yard. What a nice neighborhood we live in.

Love

Time to get a bit mushy and lovey.

Danny and I have been married for almost six years, but we actually started dating on February 20th. While we don’t really celebrate the day, we do like to acknowledge it (when we remember). We usually just say “Happy February 20th.”

I know that once your married, if not common to continue celebrating your dating anniversary, but it’s nice just to remember. I love Danny so much, and we are so perfect for each other. (I did warn you that it was going to get mushy).

We have enough in common for a good relationship, but we are also opposite in ways that it helps balance us out. Plus, Danny is the only one who can put up with my craziness. He is a wonderful man and a great father. I love you, Danny.

My dad also like Danny a lot. Sometimes, I think that maybe my dad likes Danny more than me. He’s always telling me to be nice to Danny. What?! It’s not like I’m mean to him. Only when he makes me mad. Apparently, my dad’s worries that Danny will leave me and then they won’t be able to talk about work and go fishing anymore.

Our first New Year’s together.

Some anniversary. I don’t remember what year anniversary it was, but I do remember that we went to The Melting Pot. I guess I remember the important things.

At my brother’s wedding:

Labor Day 5k:

Questions of the day:

  • Do you share a birthday with anyone (famous or not)? I share a birthday with Cher. And Danny was born on Flag Day. I always think that’s it’s funny to say Happy Flag Day before I say Happy Birthday.
  • What’s your favorite pizza topping? Beside cheese, I love veggies, especially red onion.

Danny Bakes!

Ahhh…Saturday. I love it when the weekend comes.

I dragged my tired butt out of bed this morning to go to yoga because I haven’t been in about a week and a half. I ate a clementine and a thinkThin fruit and nut bar before going.

When I walked into yoga, the instructor saw my shoulder and asked what happened. I told her that I had a mole removed, and I had to be careful not to tear the stitches. She told me that she had a mole removed on her chest and after it was gone, she kind of missed it.

Yes! I am not the only person that has an abnormal love for their mole! I felt better for missing my mole after she told me that. However, I didn’t tell her that I planned on drawing my mole back on with a Sharpie because that’s just weird…

Yoga was different today because we used light weights, resistance bands, and a Pilates ring. It was nice changing it up a bit, and it makes the class go by faster. I also did a quick 10 minutes on the stationary bike.

When I got home from yoga, Danny had all the ingredients to make cookies set up on the counter.

He and my dad made a bet on the Super Bowl game, and Danny lost, so he has to bake my dad cookies. He did surprising well. I think Danny is just hiding his culinary skills from me so that he doesn’t ever have to cook. Nah, that’s not true. I’ve seen his eggs.

He followed the directions on the Tollhouse chocolate chip package, and make them completely by himself. He wouldn’t even let me hold the mixer.

Even though he followed the directions perfectly, the cookies came out a little bit flat, and we couldn’t figure out why. They did taste awesome, though. He even stuck a peanut butter cup in some of them.

That might have been the one and only time that Danny has ever baked, so I’m glad that I caught it on camera.

For lunch today, I had a bagelwich (big surprise) with pickles and a Southwest salad. I think Danny and I have gone through five bags of this salad in the past week. It’s so good.

I’m excited for our dinner plans tonight!

Do you have any exciting plans tonight?

What’s your favorite kind of cookie?
