First I want to say I love your blog. What advice can you give to some one who is starting out to run. I have wanted to run for a long time just havent been consistent. Also I have a very weak core which has caused me a lot of back problems. How do you make sure you fit into your busy schedule as being a wife and mother to work out consistently?
Thanks so much for checking out my blog!
I think it’s great that you want to start running. I would say that it’s best to start out slow and do what feels right. Start with walking and add intervals if running, even if you can only run 30 seconds at a time. The programs like Couch to 5k are great because they tell you exactly when to run and walk. When you start getting more comfortable running, you can add more running and less walking. I am not a very fast runner, but that’s what my body is comfortable with. And strengthening your core helps!
I am lucky enough to be able to stay home with my kids and take care of my niece, so I have a little more freedom when I can workout. I always go in the morning when my son is at preschool or I bring him to the kids room at the gym. I try to workout in the morning otherwise I get less motivated as the day goes on.
Good luck with the running! Let me know how it goes!
