Eating Better and Jillian Michaels Detox Water

Good afternoon!

Today’s Workout

  • Plank #30 – 3 minutes and 16 seconds
  • Stationary bike – 12 minutes
  • BodyPump – 60 minutes
  • Elliptical - 20 minutes

When I woke up yesterday morning, my ankle was killing me. It hurt to put any pressure on it. I am assuming that I did something to it while I was running on Saturday, but nothing stands out in my mind. I didn’t hurt or twist it at all, but it sure is sore.

It was still sore when I woke up this morning, so I made sure to do low impact cardio like the bike and elliptical. I hope that it starts to feel better by tomorrow because I have to start my 15k training soon.

I probably should have started already but I haven’t. I have never followed a set training plan before, so hopefully I can stick to it!

Best Post-Workout Snack – McDonald’s Coffee and a mint Builder bar:

DietBet

Danny and I have about nine days left until the FitFluential DietBet is over. I am really going to have to work hard if I plan on losing my 4%. Like I’ve mentioned, I ate pretty much whatever I wanted during spring break and Easter. I haven’t weighed myself, but I know that I’ve gained a few pounds.

I am glad to get back on track because when I eat like crap, I feel like crap. And I felt really crappy all last week, so things will be better this week!

I decided to drink the Jillian Michaels Detox Water again this week. I drank it for a week about two months ago and felt like it helped, so I’m doing it again.

Basically, you mix up the following and drink it throughout the day for seven days while eating healthy meals:

  • 60 ounces distilled water
  • 1 tbsp. sugar-free cranberry juice
  • Dandelion root tea
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

I had a lot of cranberry juice leftover last time, so I froze it in ice-cube trays and just added one to the pitcher this morning.

I know that they sell bottled lemon juice at the store, but I prefer using fresh lemon juice, so I bought a juicer for only $3.99.

Eating healthy might seem hard at times, but I always feel so much better when I eat better.

Lunch

My stomach doesn’t feel the greatest from eating so much yesterday, so by the time lunch rolled around, I didn’t want to eat anything to heavy. I had a big plate of fruit and veggies with hummus. I also had a vanilla Greek yogurt with PB2 mixed in for some protein.

Have a great afternoon!

  • How do you get back on track after a day/weekend/week of unhealthy eating?
  • Did you workout today?
  • Favorite juice? I love orange juice!

Egg Shell Shuffle 5k

Egg Shell Shuffle 5k complete!! (Warning: Lots of pics)!

This morning started out bright and early at about 6:40 am. The race didn’t start until 9:15 am, but I woke up early just so that I could drink a cup of coffee. I typically don’t drink coffee before races because I already use the bathroom enough as it is, but today I had my coffee.

We got to the race site at about 8:05 am, and the parking lot was already full, so we parked nearby on a side street. We met up with my dad, Sue, and Marlene shortly after we arrived.

Messing around:

My dad: The official bag holder, photographer, and baby sitter.

Thanks, Dad! You’re awesome!

The Easter bunny came out and said hello. He danced with Jaden, but don’t let Jaden’s face fool you – he was terrified.

The half marathon started at 8:30 am, and the 5k started at 9:15 am. Everything started on time which was nice, and I had time to go to the bathroom four times before the race. No joke – four times.

I was unsure what to wear since the weather was mild, around 40 degrees, but I knew that I would heat up quickly. There was also a little bit of a cold wind. I ended up wearing long shorts, Zensah calf sleeves, a short sleeve shirt, and a long sleeve dry fit shirt.

It seemed to work pretty well. I did get warm the last mile, so I just pushed up my sleeves.

I also got to wear my new Garmin 10 for the race! I got it as a Christmas present but haven’t been able to wear it yet because I haven’t run outside since last fall.

The first two miles went pretty good. I felt pretty good and had a good pace going. I’m slow and steady. After the first two miles things got harder – my calves started to get really tight. They haven’t been too bad on the treadmill, but with running outside and the hills and stuff, they didn’t want to cooperate. It was tough.

Three miles might not seem like a lot, but for me it is. Running is work for me. Hard work. The last mile, these thoughts started going through my head: I should have stayed at home in bed, Why the hell did I sign up to run a 15k in June, and Is it over yet, please let it be over.

I spotted Danny, and I knew that I must be close to the finish. I practically threw my iPod at him and took off. I can’t stand to wear my iPod a whole race, it starts to bug me.

I crossed the finish line and mine chip time was 31:48!! I was very very happy with that! My average 5k time used to be 36 minutes, so I am definitely improving. I placed #14 for my age group (30-34) out of 50 women, so I was also pleased with that.

After the race, I chatted with LosingLindy and her son. How awesome that they ran the 5k together! My kids just sat there and played their iPods the whole time. Great job, Lindy and V!

Danny, Marlene, and Sue are speedy!! Danny did awesome finishing in 25:09.

My stepmom did really good too (she’s another speedy one), and Marlene won second place for her age group!!

The prizes were Easter baskets and water bottles with gels instead of medals.

Great job guys!

The kids egg hunt started at 11:15am, and the kids had fun picking up all the eggs. The Easter bunny was also there handing out eggs, which was nice.

The adult egg hunt was crazy!

A whole bunch of adults running after eggs is chaos. Every time I bent down to get an egg someone would swipe in out from underneath me or trample me. Jeesh. I did manage to get a few eggs though.

There were some good prizes for the egg hunt but all my eggs were filled with candy.

With 7,000 eggs and only a handful of prizes, your chances of winning were pretty slim.

I enjoyed the race overall. I think it was well set-up, there was a good amount of porta potties, a lot of volunteers, lots of post race food, and I love love love getting a finisher’s medal. It makes me feel accomplished :)

I didn’t think the egg hunt was all that great. First, it started two hours after the 5k. I know they have to do awards and stuff, but that makes for a long day. Also, the adult egg hunt was just way too crazy. I would run the Egg Shell Shuffle 5k again but probably wouldn’t bother to stay for the egg hunt.

After the race, I treated myself to an iced coffee.

Then, we stopped by my dad’s house to borrow some chairs for tomorrow, and he showed me some more of the eggs he made.

How awesome is this mermaid?!

Have a great day and a wonderful Easter tomorrow!!

Quick Check In

Good afternoon and happy Friday!! Just a quick check-in because I am about to go to my hair appointment. I don’t even know why I bother to get my hair done since I don’t even do it anyway. Okay, sometimes I do. It’s just so much easier to throw it into a ponytail.

Yesterday

Last night we dressed up nice…and went to Whole Foods for dinner. Jaden really got into it:

We did try to go to a nicer restaurant, but the wait was an hour! On a Thursday! Crazy. So, we went to Whole Foods instead.

Today’s Workout

  • BodyPump – 60 minutes
  • Zumba – 60 minutes
  • Plank #29: 3 minutes and 15 seconds

Most of songs in Zumba today were new, so it took me a while to catch on, but it was such a fun workout!

Jaden took my picture doing plank #28.

Only two more planks to go! Actually, three. I missed doing a plank on March 1st, so I am going to make up for it by doing one on April 1st.

Tomorrow is the Egg Shell Shuffle 5k and it looks like the weather is going to be nice! The race also has a little bit of a later start time, 9:15 am, so that will be nice because we have to get the kids up and ready. I just hope parking isn’t an issue.

Speaking of races, I was looking through the flyers in my race bag and I came across a 5k that offers babysitting during the race.

How cool is that? I am lucky that I usually run with my family, so I can bring the kids with and my dad will watch them, or my mom will sometime watch them, but I know that some parents don’t have this luxury. I thought it was very cool that they offered babysitting during the race.

Snack

I have been eating the best snack lately. Vanilla Greek yogurt with a tablespoon of PB2 mixed it with Honeycrisp apple slices to dip in it! So good!

We’re having Easter brunch at our house, so I’ll be making my grocery list and shopping later today.

Have a wonderful weekend and a great Easter!!

  • Any plans this weekend?
  • What are you doing for Easter?
  • What do you think of babysitting during a race?

March Goodies Box

Good afternoon! The sun is finally shining here in Chicagoland and it is so nice!! Now we just need some warm weather!

Today’s Workout

  • 3.1 miles treadmill, ran
  • 6.3 miles stationary bike (6.2 miles in 29:24)
  • Plank #28: 3 minutes and 14 seconds

(Instagram: @RunEatPlay)

This morning at the gym, I ran 3.1 miles at a slower pace on the treadmill. After that, I completed 6.2 miles on the stationary bike for Ali’s Spatula Runner’s Virtual Race. I ran the 10k portion on the treadmill last week.

That bike ride was tough! If I was smart, I would have completed it on the regular stationary bike instead of the fancy one. First, the only courses that were at least 6.2 miles were labeled “challenging”, which meant lots of hills. I couldn’t just ride at a nice and easy pace, I had to keep changing the bike gears to make it up the hills.

In order to go faster, I had to up the gears, but when you up the gears, it gets a lot tougher to pedal. Let’s just say that I finished my workout nice and sweaty. I did the plank immediately after I got off the bike, and my arms were so sweaty that I was sliding around the mat <—- Gross.

After the gym, the kids and I went to pick up the race packets for the Egg Shell Shuffle on Saturday. I am nervous and excited about this race. I am nervous because a) with my back and calf tightness, I still don’t feel 100%, b) I haven’t run outside since last fall c) the weather. As of now it looks like it’s going to be a high of 57 degrees and no rain, so as long as Mother Nature sticks with the plan, it’ll be good.

I’m excited because a) it’s the first race of the season! b) I’ll be running with my family (actually I’ll be running behind my family), and c) there’s an adult egg hunt!

I’m looking forward to running the race with my family. Since this is my first race outdoors in awhile, I’m doing it for fun, not time. Danny and I also running a 5k the following weekend, and my stepmom is running the Shamrock Shuffle in Chicago.

I love that the Egg Shell Shuffle gives out Nike dry-fit shorts instead of a typical race t-shirt that I know I won’t wear. I know that I’ll actually wear these shorts.

However, I know Danny won’t be running in his shorts.

He’s tall, so he typically wears basketball shorts to run in because they’re longer. The Nike shorts seem to run a bit small, so I can’t see him wearing these tiny shorts, but it’s still a nice change from the normal race t-shirt.

The shorts came in a reusable bag, which was nice, and that was it. Everything else was just flyers for other races.

March Goodies Box

My March Goodies Box finally arrived.

I am really exicted for some of the products in this month’s box. Here’s what I received:

  • Alo Water – Watermelon and Peach
  • Ola! Handbaked Granola
  • Rickland Orchards Greek Yogurt Coated Granola Bar
  • BelVita Cinnamon Brown Sugar Breakfast Biscuits
  • Bonne Maman Strawberry Preserves
  • Erin Baker’s Breakfast Cookie
  • Jovan’s All Natural Instant Breakfast
  • Nabisco Newtons Triple Berry

I really like that the granola is a small single-serve size. I like to top my smoothies with a little bit of granola or cereal for crunch, but I don’t usually buy granola because like cereal, I will eat tons of it. And granola is a lot higher in calories than cereal. So, this little package will be perfect.

I have always wanted to try the BelVita biscuits, so I am glad that those were included. I’ve had the greek yogurt covered granola bar before and can’t wait to try the cranberry almond flavor.

I was excited for the breakfast cookie…until I saw that it has raisins. I am not a raisin fan. I’ll try the cookie though. Maybe.

The thing I am most excited for is….

the strawberry preserves! I am such a sucker for cute packaging, and how adorable is this little jar?!

The Goodies Box is a monthly subscription that costs $7 a month. This is my second box, and so far it’s been worth it!

Have a great afternoon!

  • Did you workout today?
  • Any races coming up?
  • Have you ever had a BelVita biscuit?
  • Would you buy something based on the packaging?

Gym, Mini Golf, and Lunch

Good afternoon! I am happy to say that I woke up today feeling much better than yesterday! It seems like the stomach flu is going around here because another lady at my gym was sick with it, and now poor Jacob is sick.

Breakfast

I picked up a few of these Quaker oatmeal cups over the weekend (mostly because I was too lazy to make my own) and they are delicious!

So far I’ve had the cherry pistachio, summer berry, and peach flavors. I love all of them. I usually stick to my Kashi Go Lean cereal but these are great for something different or for a treat on the weekend.

Today’s Workout

  • BodyPump – 60 minutes
  • Plank #27 – 3 minutes and 12 seconds
  • (Yesterday’s Plank #26 – 1 minute and 30 seconds)

My normal plank time is back!

Since I was feeling better this morning, I headed to BodyPump at 9 am. I realized after the warm-up that my back still is 100%, so I made sure to take it easy and lift lighter weight than normal. It was nice to be back!

After the gym, I took the kids for a quick game of glow mini golf.

They had a lot of fun, but I have never heard two kids argue so much about how the other one hits the ball. Jeesh. I told them that it wasn’t the mini golf championships and not to worry about how the other one hits the ball, and to just be quiet and play fun mini golf!!!

We only played a quick round because we decided to go meet Danny out by his work for lunch. We went to Go Roma, and I had the pizza and salad combo. I didn’t get a good picture because the lighting was bad, but the salad I had was wonderful.

I had the Pear and Walnut salad and it came with baby greens, fresh pear, goat cheese, seasoned walnuts, dried cranberries, and aged balsamic vinaigrette. It was soooo good. I have only had goat cheese a few times, and I am not a huge fan of it, but I really liked it on this salad. It has such a nice creamy texture.

They just put a Yumz Frozen Yogurt in next to Go Roma, so of course we had to stop there afterwards.

But eyes were way bigger than my stomach because I could not finish all that fro-yo. I was really into the Reese’stoday…

We said good-bye to Danny, and then stopped at Hobby Lobby so I could pick up a few things for Easter. I let the kids pick out a wooden object to paint. Jaden picked out a box and a “J”. Jacob just got a “J”.

They love painting and for only a few dollars, it keeps them busy for a while.

Weight Loss Wednesday

I have decided to skip weight loss Wednesday this week. My eating has been all over the place with getting together with my family over the weekend,  Danny being home on Monday, spring break with the kids, and being sick.

I know that if I get on the scale, I won’t be happy with the number, and I don’t feel like dealing with that. I know that my happiness shouldn’t be based on a number on the scale, but if you want me to be completely honest, it is.

I’ve worked hard to lose 30+ pounds, so seeing any weight gain discourages me. Right now, I am working on getting to my goal weight and then will work on maintaining that number with a 5 pound plus/minus difference.

I also know that this will be a hard weekend with Easter coming up. I had just started to lose weight last Easter, and I remember eating really good that day. It seems that now that I have lost weight, I give myself a little slack…maybe too much slack.

I still have about 13 days left in the Fit Fluential DietBet, so I’m not too worried. Next week will be crunch time!

  • Are you doing anything fun during spring break?
  • When’s the last time you went mini golfing?
  • Do you like goat cheese? Favorite cheese?

Maybe Not My Best Idea

Good afternoon!

Yesterday’s Plank Time: 1 minute and 30 seconds

Yes, that was it. At about 9:30 pm last night, I realized that I still hadn’t done my plank for the day but my back was still bothering me a bit, so I figured I’d just do a short plank. A short plank is better than no plank, right?

Today’s Workout

  • 2.04 miles treadmill, walked

When I woke up this morning, my back felt tons better. Not 100%, but pretty close. However, I felt sick. Physically sick like I ate something bad. I really debated whether I should go to the gym or not. Usually I take Butts and Guts class on Tuesday, and since I hadn’t been to the gym in two days, I decided to go to Butts and Guts class and just take it easy.

When I got to the gym, I stood there debating whether or not I should actually go into class. If you’re at the gym, and still debating whether or not to workout, it’s probably a better idea not too. But I don’t always listen to good advice, so I walked into Butts and Guts class and there was only one other women there who said that there was a sub instructor.

I took that as a sign that maybe I shouldn’t take class today and went to walk on the treadmill instead. I made it about two miles before I decided that I just didn’t feel well enough to continue working out.

Typically, if your cold symptoms are above the neck (headache, stuffy nose, light cough, etc) it’s typically okay to workout. Since my stomach was feeling physically sick and I didn’t want to be sick all over the treadmill (how’s that for imagery), I decided to head home.

I finally decided that I should maybe eat something around 11 am, and had a wafflewich for breakfast.

I used to eat these all the time, but haven’t had one lately, so while I was at the store, I picked up some Van’s blueberry waffles. I topped the waffles with a bit of PB2 and some blueberries.

After eating, I took the kids to go pick up my niece, and then we came home and I made the kids breakfast for lunch. We have a lot of cracked hard-boiled eggs to eat…

I forgot to show you this Easter egg that my dad made.

He’s pretty crafty.

The rest of the afternoon will be spent taking Jaden to a playdate and relaxing!

  • What’s your favorite way to eat eggs?
  • Do you workout when you’re feeling a bit under the weather?
  • What’s your favorite breakfast food?

GNC Lean Shake 25

First off, congrats to my sister-in-law, Crystal, for signing up for her first half marathon! She signed up to run the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon in Florida in November. The cool part is that the race is at night, and her birthday is the next day, so she will actually be running at midnight on her 30th birthday!

What a cool way to celebrate your 30th birthday! Marlene is also running the race with her. Marlene is a marathoner, so she’ll do awesome! They’ll both do awesome, and I’m so proud of both of them!!

My brother sent me this e-card which is dead on:

Yup, that pretty much sums up my life perfectly.

Today’s Workout

  • BootCamp – 65 minutes
  • 1 mile treadmill, walked slow
  • Plank #23 – 3 minutes 10 seconds

When my alarm went off at 6:35 am this morning, I did not want to get out of bed. But I knew that I would feel better if I worked out and got my workout out of the way early in the day, so I got my butt up and went to BootCamp.

BootCamp was tough this morning. The instructor had  different stations set up, and we spent 2 minutes at each station. Then we did it again. After BootCamp, I walked slow on the treadmill to cool down and loosen up my legs a bit. I finished up with plank #23!

Post-Workout Snack

My post-workout snack/breakfast was awesome this morning! I made a strawberry orange cream smoothie.

GNC recently sent me their limited edition orange cream flavor to try out, and my immediate thought was how delicious it would be in a smoothie.

The GNC Lean Shake 25  has 25 grams of protein, 9 grams of fiber, and is low carb. I love the orange cream flavor. Usually when you go to the store, the typical flavors are chocolate and vanilla, so I loved that this orange cream flavor was something different.

Dreamsicle, anyone?!

The GNC Lean Shake 25 is also great mixed as water for a meal replacement. It is a well-balanced blend of protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and fat. They recommend drinking two shakes daily, with a healthy meal, and exercise as a weight management program.

I love smoothies, so I used the orange cream Lean Shake 25 to make one.

In my smoothie:

  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen peaches
  • 1 scoop GNC Lean Shake 25 orange cream powder
  • 4 ounces Trop50 orange juice
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • crushed ice

Blend and enjoy!

This is probably one of my favorite smoothies that I’ve made! The orange cream really adds to the flavor.

The rest if the morning will be spent hard boiling five dozen eggs for Easter egg dying fun tonight!

That might seem like a lot of eggs, but I’ve already cracked half a dozen of them :)

Have a great day!

  • Favorite protein powder flavor?
  • Any plans tonight?
  • What time did you wake up today?

Jacob’s a Better Planker

Happy Friday!!

Last night around 9:45pm (when Jacob should have been sleeping), he overheard me telling Danny that I held the plank for 3 minutes and 6 seconds. Jacob yells out, The plank is easy! It’s not hard to do!

To which I responded, Alright then, get up and let me see you hold a plank that long.

Danny told me that I shouldn’t be getting his heart rate so late at night when he was supposed to be sleeping. I just ignored him. I have been working so hard on holding my plank for over three minutes, and I wanted Jacob to see how tough it actually is to hold a plank.

Jacob proved me wrong. My 11-year old got out of bed, and held the plank for 3 minutes and 25 seconds! What?! Danny says it’s because he doesn’t weigh anything and has less weight to hold up.

Then, Jacob says to me I could have held it longer, but you told me to stop and get into bed. Way to go, Jacob. Maybe he’ll be my plank coach :)

Treat Time

Last night after dinner, I realized that I still had quite a few calories left, so I splurged and had a Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg. The egg shape makes it so much better.

The calorie count isn’t horrible – 170 calories and 4 grams of protein. I’m sure it has lots of sugar though! Whatever. It was delicious.

Today’s Workout

  • Plank #22 – 3 minutes and 9 seconds (getting better but still not as good as Jacob!)

  • Stationary bike – 17 minutes, 3.05 miles
  • BodyPump – 60 minutes
  • Zumba – 60 minutes

My calves are a bit tight from yesterday’s run, so I foam rolled for about three minutes this morning (that’s all I had time for!), and I rode three miles on the bike this morning instead of walking on the treadmill.

My BodyMedia band finally broke all the way off the other day, but luckily the replacement band arrived the very next day, and it’s pink!!

It actually felt weird not wearing it for half a day because I am so used to it, but it was nice to get a little break from logging on my food on their website. I still write it all down on paper though. I write my food in a notebook and then I input it into the computer when I have time. It might seem a little time-consuming, but it really works for me!

We have plans to go to my dad and stepmom’s house tomorrow for dinner and to dye Easter eggs! We always have a great time getting together to dye eggs, and my dad usually comes up with the best decorating ideas. He is very secretive about it – he usually hides in the corner and won’t let us see what he’s doing.

Last year:

And yes, he sketches his egg designs out first.

Have a great weekend!

  • Do you keep track of what you eat or calories? I tend to slack a lot on the weekends, but do a great job during the week.
  • Do you dye Easter eggs?
  • Any workout today? Plank time?
  • Any plans this weekend?

Easter Craft Time

Albion  Giveaway Winner:

#2 – OlivetoRun! Please email your shipping address to runeatplay(at)hotmail(dot)com  Congrats!

Today’s Workout

  • Plank #21 – 3 minutes and 6 seconds
  • 6.22 miles, treadmill
  • 10 minutes stretching

I signed up for Ali’s Virtual Running with Spatulas Race, and decided that I would run the 10k today.

Let me tell you, today was a horrible running day. I have good running days and bad running days. I like running, but it’s a struggle for me. I have never been a great runner or a long distance runner. I enjoy the challenge and trying to improve my running, but today was tough. My body just wasn’t feeling it.

I still pushed myself to complete the 6.2 miles. I ran a little over three miles, and then had to walk/jog the rest. But I did it…and now my legs are sore. I even wore my Zensah calf sleeves and Mizuno running shoes!

Ali’s virtual race goes to the end of the month, so I can always redo the 6.2 if I’m not happy with my time, but right now I’m just happy I did it. I still have the 10k on the bike portion to complete.

After the gym, I stopped by the grocery store and was surprised to find the new Chobani Flips yogurt.

Surprised but excited. I usually grocery shop at Meijer, and they don’t even carry the Chobani bites, so I was surprised to see the Flips. I bought two of the key lime with graham cracker and white chocolate flavors to try out.

I’m pretty sure that it’s going to be delicious :)

Easter Crafts

Yesterday, I made an Easter craft with my niece and Jaden. (Apparently Jacob is too old to make Easter crafts.) We did marble bouncy ball painting. Usually a marble or golf ball works best, but all I could find was a bouncy ball.

I love this kind of painting because it doesn’t make a mess and is great for toddlers.

I cut off the top of a pancake mix box, put in a paper shaped egg, added the paint and bouncy ball and let the kids roll it around until the egg was painted. My niece loved it. Great for fine motor skill and not messy! Win-win.

After the eggs dried, I glued them to a purple piece of scrapbook paper and wrote Happy Easter on it.

Only 10 more days until Easter, and only nine more days until the Egg Shell Shuffle 5k. I am a little bit nervous for the 5k because it’s going to be cold here, and I have never run an outdoor race in the cold. I am more of a hot weather girl! We’ll see how it goes!

  • What’s the last distance that you ran? Ever have bad running days?
  • Would you rather run in hot or cold weather? Any cold weather running tips?
  • Make any Easter crafts?

Core Meals

Breakfast

Breakfast was actually something different this morning – a Core Foods bar!

I recently received these Core bars to try out, and I love the concept behind them:

CORE Meals are a fresh, full bowl of raw oatmeal to go. Eat like a bar, drink water, and you’ll be satisfied for hours! Made from 7 whole, raw, 100% organic, tested GF ingredients, the whole foods in CORE Meals provide powerful, stable energy. With a controlled, fully balanced ratio of calories, complex carbs, lean proteins, and healthy fats, CORE Meals are loved by athletes for pre/post workout meals and depended upon by busy moms and adventurers.
I like that these bars are made of real food meaning that they actually spoil. They won’t stay fresh for years like the Twinkie we saw at the museum. Imagine all the preservatives in that Twinkie.
Core bars last one week on the go, one month in the fridge, and six months in the freezer.
Core Bars are only made of a few ingredients. I ate the Raw Cashew Cacao flavor which had only the following ingredients:
I really liked the taste of the bar and that it provides four hours of stable energy. Four hours will last me through my workout and until lunch! I love these because they’re portable and great for after a workout too.
Core Foods is having a great giveaway on their Facebook page!
Yesterday’s Workout
  • Yoga – 60 minutes

I finally went back to yoga last night. Last year, I went to yoga every single Wednesday (and sometimes on Saturday!). Then when I joined the Biggest Loser at my gym, I had to stop going to yoga because the Biggest Loser met on Wednesday nights.

When the Biggest Loser ended, winter started, and I had no motivation to leave the house in the freezing weather and the dark. So, here I am back at yoga! It’s still freezing out but at least the sun is still out :)

I’ll be back later with today’s workout and the winner of the Albion Fit giveaway!

  • Ever take yoga?
  • How do you motivate yourself to workout at night or during cold weather?
  • What did you have for breakfast today?
