I hope you all had a fun and safe New Year! Our New Year’s Eve was a lot different than it normally was, but it was still a lot of fun. On top of a lot of us being sick, it snowed like crazy here.
My brother and sister-in-law were the only ones who were able to make it so we were going to try for late dinner reservations but the snow had other plans for us. Since the roads were so bad, we decided to stay in and have a pizza and pajama party.
We had a dance party in the living room.
We played a game called Say Anything and drank some root beer.
We dressed up like ghosts.
We blew some noise makers.
We wore fun hats.
We counted down to 2014.
Then we went to bed.
Although it wasn’t a typical New Years for us with the rest of my family, it was still a great night.
Yesterday was pretty much a lazy day. We went out to breakfast and then were lazy the rest of the day. Well, the kid and I were lazy. Danny shoveled for hours.
I know it’s so cliché, but my New Year’s resolution is to be healthy and yes, lose weight. I know that I have gained a bit of weight back recently and I am going to be back on track 100% to lose it. With the holidays and everything, I haven’t been eating as well as I should.
I am also a very emotional eater. I’m sad, I eat. I’m happy, I eat. I’m bored, I eat. I also have a tendency to overeat. I like food, what can I say? For me, I just need to start making healthier choices and eating not so healthy foods in moderation. I have a severe sweet tooth and that’s always my downfall, but if I eat sweets in moderation rather than depriving myself, I am fine.
My plan is to start the new year off with a one-day juice cleanse. I will be doing a cleanse from JuiceRx, a Chicago based juice and cleanse company.
I realize that juice cleanses aren’t for everyone, but for me personally, it’ll really help jump start my healthier eating. Juice cleanses have many physical benefits but I think they also have mental benefits. It will mentally get me back into the right frame of mind to eat healthy and get back to tracking my food.
The juice cleanse in supposed to be delivered today but we are getting major snow here, so I probably won’t start the cleanse until tomorrow or Saturday, depending when it arrives. I will do a whole post once I finish the cleanse. I am really looking forward to it and the juices on the JuiceRx website look amazing.
I planned on starting my day at the gym, but the weather outside is crazy. People are posting on Facebook that it’s taking 30 minutes just to drive a mile. I hate snow but I really hate driving in it, so I am just going to stay home and practice BodyPump instead.
Have a great day!
