When I woke up this morning, my right glute was killing me. I can feel the pain deep in my muscle and it feels like I have been punched repeatedly in the butt. A couple of months ago, I was diagnosed with hip bursitis, tendonitis, and a partially torn ligament.
I finished my physical therapy appointments and have been getting back to my normal workout schedule. I think I over did it yesterday though because I had two tough workouts.
I planned on running yesterday morning, but at the last minute, I decided to go to Butts and Guts class. I haven’t been to that class in a long time and it was a tough workout.
Then, Danny and I had a Row Circuit class last night and we had a substitute instructor. She is a lot harder than our regular instructor. Her workouts are awesome but they are tough. She doesn’t mess around – which I like because I want to feel like I am getting in the best workout that I can.
I think I just did too much yesterday and really need to take it easy. I probably shouldn’t have gone to the row class after going to Butt and Guts class, but row class is a separate fee. And since I am paying for the class, I hate to miss it.
- Stationary bike – 30 minutes
- Practiced shoulder BodyPump track – approx. 25 minutes
- Stretches and exercises from PT – approx. 25 minutes
I went to the gym this morning, but I just rode on the stationary bike because it’s the easiest on my hip and glute.
The bikes with the screens are great because you get to pick different courses and trails to ride on.
I practiced BodyPump for a little bit and then did some exercises and stretches from my physical therapist.
Post workout, I had a Clif Builder Bar.
I haven’t had one of these bars in a while, and I forgot how good they were.
After the gym, I stopped by Target to pick up some headphones for the 5k on Sunday. I bought Yur Bud headphones awhile back because I needed a headphone that went inside my ears, otherwise they fall out. But I lost one of the plastic pieces that goes inside your ear at a 5k over the summer, and I lost the other piece when I was doing BodyPump training.
I can still use the headphones if I’m not moving around too much but they fall out when I run, so I went to Target and picked up some cheap headphones.
These headphones were only $6, they go in my ears, and they have a cool zebra design. Perfect.
Being a proud mom, I have to share that Jaden is in the October issue of Chicago Parent magazine!
That was his costume two years ago – he was Luigi riding Yoshi. He didn’t even realize it who is was when I first showed him. He reaction was priceless when he finally realized that it was him!
Have a great afternoon!!
