I’m so glad that today is Friday! Even though this week was a short week because of the holiday, it still seemed long!
- Stretching/Foam rolling
- Squats, lunges, tube walking side to side
- One legged bridges and regular bridges
Since I have BodyPump training tomorrow, my physical therapist recommended taking it easy today. So, for my workout today I did a lot of the same stuff that I do at PT at the gym.
I did hip and glute stretches. I did walking lunges and tube walking side to side. I also did squats and bridges. Those one-legged bridges are harder than they look!
Tomorrow is the first day of BodyPump training. I go at 11 am tomorrow and 8 am on Sunday. Each day is about 9 hours of training and can be extended if the instructor feels the need. It’s going to be intense.
Part of me is nervous and part of me is okay. I do great practicing my BodyPump tracks alone at home, but once I am in front of people, I seem to mess up. I have the tracks completely memorized, I just have to actually be able to perform them with the right timing and cues.
I am hoping that this weekend will help me learn to do that better. I am looking forward to it, but am nervous at the same time. I’ll let you know how it goes
I’m not sure when I’ll start teaching at the gym because I know that I also have to submit a video of myself teaching to be 100% certified from Les Mills, but I do know that I will be teaching Sundays and subbing as needed. I’m scared.
After the gym, I had a hair appointment. To get to the salon, I have to walk past Bath and Body Works. I couldn’t help it and had to go in to look at their new fall soaps and candles. Once I saw the Honeycrisp apple soap, I was sold.
Luckily, they were on sale and I had a gift card leftover from my birthday (thanks, Mom!).
I love the “Keep Calm and Carve On” soap! I originally had two Honeycrsip apple soaps and put once back to get the Keep Calm soap, which is a pumpkin cinnamon scent.
I love eating pumpkin products, but I’m not a big fan of the pumpkin scented soaps and candles. I prefer the fruitier apple and orange scents. I also love the Leaves candle.
Now we just need some fall weather!
The warm weather didn’t stop me from drinking my first pumpkin spice coffee of the season though
Then I stopped at Victoria’s Secret to use another gift card that I’ve had since Christmas. I bought a pair of boyfriend sweatpants.
They are gray with leopard print letters! How can I pass that up?!
I love these sweatpants and they’re pretty much all I buy at VS. I think I own a pair for at least everyday of the week. Honestly, in the colder months, if I’m not wearing workout clothes, I am wearing my VS sweatpants. I love them.
Lunch this afternoon was another bagelwich, carrots, blueberries, and grapes.
The rest of the afternoon will be spent practicing BodyPump and getting my stuff ready for tomorrow. There’s actually quite a few things that I need to bring including: extra clothes (I guess we’ll sweat a lot), a DVD player or laptop to watch the BodyPump DVD on, an iPod loaded with the BodyPump music, an laptop with the BodyPump manual loaded on it it, printed paperwork and waivers, the BodyPump DVD and CD, snacks and food.
I’m kind of bummed that I am missing the grand opening of my new gym this weekend – they’re doing a ribbon cutting and everything, but I think Danny might take the kids to it. He can take pictures for me
