Yesterday for lunch I decided to be fancy and eat a lobster roll sandwich.
Unfortunately, it was a fancy fail. A lobster tail fail. <—- Sorry, I had to.
I saw a picture of a lobster roll sandwich in a magazine the other day and couldn’t get it out of my head. I had to eat one. I’ve only had a lobster roll once at Bonefish Grill, and I’ve only cooked lobster once by myself a few years ago, but I figured that it couldn’t be that hard.
I bought a frozen lobster tail at the grocery store and steamed it at home with my vegetable steamer. It was all I had to steam it.
I had already mixed my ingredients in a bowl and they were just waiting for the lobster. I used plain Greek yogurt and Dijon mustard in the place of mayo because I am not a mayo fan.
When I cut the lobster open and attempted to get the meat out, I got about three chunks of lobster. Fail. I had already mixed my other ingredients so when I mixed in my tiny amount of lobster there was way too much Greek yogurt and Dijon mustard. Darn lobster tail. I guess I need more lobster tails next time?
I guess it wasn’t a complete fail because it didn’t taste bad, it was just wasn’t enough lobster. Maybe I’ll try again one day. I ate the lobster mixture on half of a wheat roll and smeared peanut butter on the other half
Breakfast this morning was oatmeal topped with slivered almonds, strawberries, and almond butter.
- BodyPump – 60 minutes
I went to BodyPump today. With the BodyPump certification coming up, I really feel like I need to go to class to help me learn the cues and stuff. My gym isn’t doing the new BodyPump release yet like I am learning, but it’s still helpful to go to class.
I tried to take it easy on the squats and lunges and didn’t really do them. If I did squat, it was about an inch down. I don’t want to injure myself anymore but I also want to be prepared for the certification weekend coming up. My right glute is what’s currently bothering me the most, so I am making sure to ice and stretch.
It was nice to get back to BodyPump, but it was so hard. My body just wasn’t used to it after taking so much time off. I guess I just have to work back up to the weights I was used to lifting.
Post workout, I had a chocolate milk.
The perfect post workout fuel because it has carbs and protein.
School starts in four days, not that I have been counting or anything, so we’ve been busy getting ready. I can’t believe how fast the summer went and that means fall, my favorite season, is approaching!
Have a great day!
