Good afternoon! I hope you’re all enjoying your Wednesday.

Breakfast

Sometimes, I buy way too much Greek yogurt because I have a hard time deciding between all the flavors, then I have to hurry up and eat it because it starts to get close to the expiration date.

Well, I had to eat the caramel pineapple yogurt because it expired today (not that I’m complaining because that flavor is delicious!)

I am one of those people who will not touch a food past its expiration date. Yogurt, milk, bread, whatever. If it’s expired, I won’t eat it. It might be physiological, but I just can’t eat it. It doesn’t usually go to waste though because Danny will pretty much eat anything.

Along with my yogurt, I also had some Kashi Go Lean cereal.

Today’s Workout

  • Plank #13: 2 minutes and 55 seconds <— Getting closer to three minutes!
  • Elliptical – 12 minutes
  • BodyPump – 60 minutes
  • HIIT Treadmill Workout – 24 minutes (with a two-minute cool down) 2.14 miles

I usually try to fit in 30 minutes of cardio on the days that I take BodyPump, so day I did a quick HIIT workout on the treadmill. I walked for two minutes followed by running at between 7.0 and 7.3 for one minute (fast for me). I repeated this for a total of 24 minutes, then followed up with a two-minute cool down of slow walking.

Heart rate up. Check. Cardio complete. Check.

Furniture

I took a few pictures of the nightstands that I liked at TJMaxx yesterday, but the pictures wouldn’t load on my computer. Well, I finally got them to load and thought I’d share the pics.

I love this nightstand:

I just wish they had two!

I also liked the style of this one, I just wish it wasn’t stark white. I like more of an off-white/cream color.

What do you think?

PB2

My nearby Whole Foods finally got the regular flavored PB2 in stock!

I was so happy that I bought two jars. I like the PB2 with chocolate, so I figured that I’d also like the regular flavor just as much. And if I don’t love it by itself, I can always use it in smoothies and yogurt.

I have a little bit of the chocolate PB2 left that I’m going to use up before I open a new jar.

Have a great afternoon!!

  • Which nightstand is your favorite?
  • Any workout today? Plank time?
  • Will you eat food past its expiration date?

  1. I really like the first one. Can you order a second?

  2. I love the first one, but would you consider painting it white or off white? I think it would look great that way and look more like your inspiration photos that you posted.

Nightstands don’t necessarily have to match. Maybe you can find something else to compliment it!

  3. I’m a fan of stark white furniture so the second night stand is my fav. I think it looks so clean!

  4. I pay attention to expiration dates, but it’s not like I’m going to throw something out the second the date comes around. I just try to make sure I use things accordingly, so I don’t have to waste food.

  5. I love the one with the baskets underneath, that’s kind of perfect for what I’m looking for in our mud room lol.
I can not eat anything past it’s expiration date, those exist for a reason!!
No working out for me today, battling this stupid sinus headache/congestion that has me beat down.

  6. I like the one with the baskets, but don’t see it as a nightstand really.
I won’t touch things that have a past expiration. Saves me food poisoning trouble later.

    • It is really long for a nightstand – it looks more like an end of the bed storage thing, I just really liked it! Glad I’m not the only one with the expiration date thing!

I can’t drink milk either after it is expired

    HI Heather,
after I had a look at your favourite nightstands, I had to smile. I would choose … none of them…. Why? Because they all have little feet, that means the base of it does not cover the whole ground and that means: not easy to clean, because you always have to lift them up to hoover underneath those things. It came to me that when we moved in in our new place a few years ago, we instinctively had only bought furniture without feet, without open shelves, without molding. Much better to clean now. :)
Any progress on your weight loss site? Love your before and after pictures!

    • Well, I never even thought of that! Good to know! This furniture shopping is too overwhelming! I am currently working on a weight loss page, but my weight has pretty  much stayed steady for the past few weeks. Those last few pound are the hardest!

  9. I love those ones with the baskets, but I am sucker for anything wicker :) As for the expiration dates, I used to be like that too. But…. I found out that “expires on” only refers to when the shop is allowed to store it, so if a product is past its “expiration” date, they can’t stock it on the shelves. It’s still good to eat. Plus, “best before” is in reference to the flavour and quality; as in, “this product will taste the best before xyz date”. Now I eat pretty much everything. Your eyes and your nose are the best judges for telling whether food is off, not labels on packets! :)

I really like the first antique-y looking night stand :-)

  11. I am JUST LIKE YOU as far as the expiration dates!!! I also will never grab the front item at a grocery store(in the cold section) because I am afraid it isn’t as fresh. Weird, I know!!

Good luck on the furniture shopping. I would give you advice but I am so not a decorator and I pretty much suck at that stuff…haha!!
