It’s Monday – I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend!
I ate way too much this weekend. With Jaden’s parties and not having the Diet Bet to worry about, I let my eating getting a bit out of control. Or a lot out of control.
I still really struggle with weekend eating, and it’s something that I am always working on to improve. It’s just so weird because I can eat perfect throughout the week, but once the weekend hits, I’m like a crazy person. And I try not to deprive myself during the week, and still have a little treat or two so that I won’t overindulge on the weekend, but that never seems to work.
I didn’t want to weigh myself this morning. It’s amazing to me that it can take so long to lose weight, and yet I can gain it back super quickly. But since I am starting the Jillian Michaels detox water this morning, I kind of have to weigh myself, or else how would I know if it helped me to lose any weight?
So, I stepped on the scale, and yes, the number was up a bit. Don’t worry – Jillian Michaels to the rescue.
Detox Water
I mixed up a batch of the water this morning and will drink it throughout the day and for the next seven days.
I made the dandelion tea first by pouring 8 ounces of boiling distilled water over the tea bag and letting it sit for about 10 minutes. Then, I mixed up the remaining water, lemon juice, and cranberry juice in a large pitcher. When the tea was done, I added it in the pitcher.
I drank my first glass of tea during breakfast with ice. I’m not a big tea drinker, but when I do drink tea, I prefer it cold.
It didn’t have much taste at all, even Jaden tried it. First glass done. Only 52 more ounces to go…
Today’s Workout
- 1.16 miles, treadmill
- BodyPump – 60 minutes
- 1.86 miles, treadmill (Law Enforcement PEB test)
This morning at the gym, I hopped on the treadmill and walked/ran a quick mile before heading to BodyPump. After BodyPump, I headed back to the treadmill and went through the fitness tests that it has listed.
I decided to do the 1.5 miles Law Enforcement Physical Efficiency Battery (PEB) test. You just enter your age, weight, and sex and off you go.
I scored a 65, which isn’t great but isn’t terrible either. I didn’t really give it my all until the very end of the test. I was just doing it for fun, and it makes the my time on the treadmill a little less boring.
Lunch
I tried to incorporate a lot of veggies and fruit into today’s lunch.
I had scrambled egg whites with green pepper & onion, raw veggies on the side, (I’m out of hummus! But I did put a little peanut butter on my celery), a clementine, and some pb toast.
Now, I just have to worry about dinner. We pretty much have no groceries in the house since we were so busy all weekend. Even though I feel like I go to the grocery store four times a week to pick something up, we usually but the majority of our groceries over the weekend.
Have a great afternoon!
- Do you grocery shop on a certain day of the week? How often?
- How do eat on the weekends? Any tips for weekend overeating?
- Coffee or tea?
- Did you workout today?

I go shopping every Saturday. It’s double coupon day! We were out of town though so we have no food in the house right now.
I wish we had double coupon near us! None of the stores double coupons
I never did before moving here. I was very excited when I figured it out.
I can’t wait to here how your detox goes. It better be worth it. That’s some expensive tea ;]
On the weekends I find that I eat LESS than on the weeknds, but I also eat more unhealthy options than I do during the week.
I like to do Saturday or Sunday morning shopping and beat the crowds.
Right?! It was some expensive tea!! We’ll see how it goes
I got a good workout in today, pushup challenge, plus some abs and biceps…I try to control myself on the weekends even though it is hard sometiems…And I am a tea drinker, hot or cold
Don’t be too hard on yourself. I’ve noticed that if I overeat on the weekend, my weight will be up a bit on Monday, but it settles back down by Tuesday or Wednesday. I think it’s because I’m usually overeating on salty and/or sugary foods that cause water retention and bloating. And if you get yourself back on track, your body has a great way of re-stabilizing itself.
I think we all go a little crazy on the weekends!
I usually do so well during the week and have a hard time staying on track during the weekends too. Lately I have been having a hard time getting back on track Monday!! Ahhhhhhh!!! I did the army fitness test on the treadmill today!! Passed!
I agree – even Mondays are hard! Awesome job on the Army Fitness Tests. Those tests are a good way to pass the time on the treadmill!
Before i comment on this post, i wanted to tell you I just read your previous post, and I think your lego cake turned out ADORABLE!!
..okay, and I usually always do our grocery shopping on Wednesdays or Fridays, and I shop for 2 weeks at a time. I do have to go back atleast once a week for some extra produce though.
Thanks, Jessie
What is different about your weekends that makes it more tempting to overeat?
Me and my fiance are going out for our Valentine’s dinner tonight, and it is also “Pancake Tuesday” in the UK which they celebrate the day before Ash Wednesday so there will unfortunately there will be a burger/fry/pancake indulgence tonight!
I think cause I have been so strict lately for Diet Bet, when I indulge, I go way overboard and eat way more than I need to, it’s really hard to try and balance!
I think it’s because my husband and kids ae home all weekend. When I’m at home by myself, I eat just fine! Have a great Valentine’s Day dinner! Pancake Tuesday sounds awesome!!
I totally indulge too much on the weekends. It’s good that you are are still being proactive though- I think that’s the most important part. We have to let ourselves give in a little bit at least.
I grocery shop on Saturdays and I actually do pretty well with eating on the weekends, its the weekdays between lunch and dinner that get me!
Dont like coffee or tea, I’m weird like that =)
Yep, I did an elliptical, lower body weights, and planks workout!

I agree – between lunch and dinner is hard!
