Video Game Fun

Yesterday

Yesterday afternoon, my brother came over to hang out for a while after he failed at helping my stepbrother with his calculus homework. But to be fair, I also failed at helping him with his calculus homework. That stuff is hard!

I have never taken calculus in my life, so I didn’t even know where to start. And I used to tutor math…shows how smart I am.

After failing at calculus, my brother played some video games.

I love how the three of them have the exact same look on their face.

I downloaded a video game on the kid’s Xbox that my brother and I used to play on Sega when we were little – ToeJam and Earl. I have never met one other person that has heard of that game before, but my brother and I used to love it.

Paul must have seen something really exciting in the game…or else he just thinks it’s funny to do crazy poses when I’m taking a picture.

Last night, we also went to Target so I could get some of the mint chocolate Builder Bars.

Danny doesn’t like them, which means I get the whole box to myself! While we were at Target, I spotted one of my favorite holiday candies – candy hearts. I love those things.

I wanted to get a bag so bad, but I ended up making a good decision and putting them back (mostly because Danny said: Heather, put those back). I love all holiday candy – Halloween candy, candy canes, jelly beans, candy hearts. But I usually have a hard time stopping with just a few. I want to eat the whole darn bag. And I only like the bigger hearts that come in a big bag, so I can’t even buy a small box of the small hearts for portion control because I don’t like them.

Darn those candy hearts. But I’m glad that I put them back, and maybe someone will buy them for me for Valentine’s Day, and then I can eat them without guilt because they were a present…right? The big candy hearts, not the small ones. Just a hint to anyone buying me a Valentine :)

Speaking of Easter (jellybeans, remember?) – did you know that Easter is in March this year? Seems super early for Easter, doesn’t it?

Today’s Workout

  • 3.21 miles treadmill
  • Adaptive Motion Trainer – 20 minutes

Today was one of those days where I left the gym sweaty and feeling like I was going to die, so I figured that I got a good workout in. I ran/walked 3.21 miles on the treadmill because my knee still aches when I run too long. Then, I spent 20 minutes on the AMT doing a 2:1 interval workout. I “worked” for two minutes, followed by a one minute recovery for a total of 20 minutes.

I came home and had breakfast similar to yesterday’s lunch – toast with pb, an egg white omelet with spinach, onions, and feta, and a clementine.

When I got home, Danny left to go to the gym. We’re doing really good with our workouts this week.

I am very excited for our date night dinner tonight. We’re going to California Pizza Kitchen. I have lived by a CPK my whole life, but have never been to one. I hear their pretty good, so I am excited to try it out!

Have a great Saturday! Also, a quick congratulations to my cousins, Billy and Michelle, on the birth of their first child. A new baby girl in the family!

  • Did you workout today?
  • Favorite holiday candy? I love it all :)
  • Ever been to California Pizza Kitchen? Favorite date night restaurant?

CPK is sooo good! I get the Thai chicken pizza and a raspberry lemon martini. Delish!

  2. I worked out today, early… It felt great! I went to a CPK a while back and it was darn good!

  3. Ugh. I hate calculus. I took business calculus and college and it was the death of me!

Oh, I love CPK! Their carnitas pizza is good and spicy! But you wouldn’t care for it… Um, BBQ chicken is great too and I am sure they have great vegetarian choices too! I do love pizza. :) I did Jillian Michaels, Body Revolution work out for an hour today. My first week is completed and my husband is taking me out for a date tomorrow!
