Surgery Fake Out

So, my brother ended up not getting back surgery yesterday. Oh, he went to the hospital, got prepped for surgery, and was knocked out by the anesthesia, but never got surgery.

It turns out that the doctor found some kind of infection and were unable to operate. Better to be safe than sorry. So, now he has to take an antibiotic, come back next week, and do everything all over again.

The worst part is that they had already given him the anesthesia, so he had no idea that he wasn’t getting the surgery. So, when he woke up the doctor had to explain that he didn’t get the surgery, his back isn’t better, and he has to come back next week. Oh, and he left the hospital in worst shape than when he arrived.

My poor brother can’t catch a break.

I took my niece home so that my sister-in-law could get my brother home and settled. And we’ll do all this again next week.

Today

Breakfast this morning was Kashi oatmeal with peanut butter.

After the kids and I ate breakfast, we headed to the gym.

Luckily, my niece did good in the kid’s room since Jacob and Jaden were in there with her.

Today’s Workout

  • 3.12 miles, treadmill

I didn’t want to leave the kids for too long, so I just ran/walked a quick three miles on the treadmill.

Danny and I are officially signed up for DietBet! Anyone else joining? It starts January 10th.

Questions of the day:

  • Any crazy surgery/doctor stories?
  • Did you workout today?

  1. Well, I woke up in the operating room, while they were about to stitch me up, so I kinda woke up in the middle of surgery! I guess the anesthesia wore off too quickly.

  2. Oh my goodness, your poor brother cannot catch a break. I feel so badly for him.
God luck with the challenge. I am sure you will rock it like you do all the others you take on!!

  3. That’s terrible for your brother! Eek.

I am happy to say I have no crazy surgery stories–thank goodness! I’m a freak about that kinda stuff as it is. A bad experience would surely push me over the edge.

  4. So sorry about the missed surgery! Hope all goes well the next time.

  5. I did a run/walk on the treadmill today too. I like switching it up with some walking so I don’t get too bored. Hope your brother feels better soon!
