Yesterday morning, Danny took my brother to the back doctor and it turns out that Paul does need surgery. He has one herniated disc, not four, like the doctor originally thought. The one herniated disc is so bad that the doctor thought from looking at the original MRI that it was four. After a second MRI, it turned out to be one very herniated disc. His surgery is scheduled for next week.
We took the kids to visit some family yesterday, and Danny and I took Baby McCutie and her new baby to lunch at Noodles and Co.
I tried to eat better yesterday, but it didn’t happen as much as I would have liked. I’ve noticed that I tend to eat “badly” when I’m stressed out. These past few weeks have just been hard with my brother, watching my niece, the holidays, and the kids and Danny off of school and work.
I tried to order semi-healthy at Noodles and Co. and had a small pasta fresca with extra veggies.
I requested and paid for extra broccoli, and I got two pieces. Thanks, Noodles and Co. for really piling the broccoli on.
I wore my new North Face hoodie from Danny.
Later in the afternoon, we took my niece home and took out Paul’s Christmas tree and vacuumed for him. I’m pretty sure that every single pine needle fell off that tree on its way outside. Then the vacuum broke. Joy.
We got everything fixed and done, and headed home when my sister-in-law got home. We had left over Papa John’s pizza for dinner. I didn’t plan on it, but when you’re tired it’s easy just to grab the quickest thing.
- BodyPump – 60 minutes
I woke up this morning not feeling the greatest. Jacob was sick before Christmas, and then Jaden was sick, so I guess it’s my turn now. Joy again.
I decided to go to the gym anyway. I figured if I was well enough to drink coffee then I was okay enough to go to BodyPump. I know I’m really sick when I can’t drink coffee.
I wore my new very pink shirt from my brother and sister-in-law.
We have an ongoing “pink” joke in our family. I don’t even know how it started. Maybe with a pair of Victoria’s Secret Pink sweatpants? I don’t know. But a couple of years ago, my Dad recruited my family to come decorate our entire front lawn in all pink…stuff while Danny and I were at a wedding.
We also have an ongoing pink flamingo joke, hence all the pink flamingos.
It was quite a surprise to see our house when we came home at 3am. My dad even had spotlights set up so we wouldn’t miss seeing a single pink thing.
The next day, my dad had to come over and admire his handy work.
If you’re wondering, yes, my family is completely normal. Right.
Back to the gym. I wore my pink shirt and went to BodyPump. I had sure to lift a little bit lighter weights since I wasn’t feeling the greatest. I felt okay during BodyPump, but started to feel worse afterwards, so I stopped at the store for some medicine. Hopefully, it’ll help.
Danny took Paul to the hospital this morning for some pre-surgery testing, and then he brought Baby McCutie back home with him. The rest of the afternoon will be spent relaxing, resting, and cleaning because my family is coming over tomorrow to exchange Christmas gifts.
Have a great Friday!
Questions of the day:
- When was the last time your were sick?
- Have you started taking down Christmas decorations yet?
- Any plans for this weekend?
