You know you need to go grocery shopping when…
… you have to give your child cheese, crackers, and yogurt for breakfast.
… you need to borrow peanut butter from your brother and sister-in-law just to make lunch.
Luckily, I was able to go grocery shopping last night because this little lady loves to eat.
How cute is my niece using her own fork?! They grow up so fast. I wish they could just stay babies forever!
Today’s Workout
- 1.55 miles treadmill
- BodyPump – 60 minutes
As long as the weather stays decent, I have plans to meet up with my running group to run a few miles tonight. I am also going to try to make it to yoga tonight. I haven’t been to yoga in months, and I really miss it!
Sometimes after the gym, I stop at McDonald’s for their apple and walnut oatmeal. Well, today I decided to make my own version at home. It’s cheaper and has fewer calories, less fat, and more protein!
I used a packet of Kashi honey and cinnamon oatmeal. Then, I added about 2 ounces of a chopped apple and about half a tablespoon of walnuts. Quick, easy, and delicious!
The only walnuts that I had in the house were one of those 100 calorie packs of almonds and walnuts, so I just picked the walnuts out of there.
Questions of the day:
- Do you have any restaurant meals that you recreate at home?
- How often do you grocery shop?
- If you had to pick one food to eat the rest of your life what would it be?
- If you have kids, what age is your favorite?

I like to make salads at home like at restaurants. I also make great chicken quesadilla. My fav age? That’s tough…. 1-4 years were so cute! I can tell 13-14 with girls was my least fav!!! Lol. Bread and cheese I could eat all day 24/7. And I’d weigh 500 lbs! Lol
I hit up the grocery store once per week, usually on the weekends.
As for my kids favorite ages, I definitely prefer the baby stage. Newborn to 2 years is my very favorite!!
I love that age too! I worked in the infant/toddler room at a daycare for a long time. I love babies!
Okay–there is no way I can possibly answer the question about having only one food to eat for the rest of my life. That is WAY too hard. I can’t decide–I love too many things.
Me too! Food is so delcious!
I like to recreate Panera Bread salads. I use their dressing from the grocery store and make my version of their Classic Cafe Salad and Strawberry Poppyseed Salad. Wendy’s has a good salad out now with apples and walnuts that I make for fall. Mine always taste better at home and the sodium is way lower. I would want strawberries and I love newborns to two year olds! I have to grocery shop at varying times b/c my hubby is a firefighter and works a weird 24 hour shift schedule. It’s been this way for 2 years now and I still can’t get adjusted.
That 24 hour schedule must be tough!
Ha! That is what family is for right…to borrow stuff JK
Thats right! I “borrowed” some M&Ms from my brother today!
I grocery shop every weekend! Gotta stay stocked up
Ha love this! Hey @least you got to the grocery storey eventually
We go grocery shopping every 2 weeks, but I always end up going back once a week for more fruit & veggies.
I could eat broccoli and ketchup everyday for the rest of my life.
