- BodyPump – 60 minutes
- 3 miles, outside
Breakfast this morning was hot oatmeal. I used Quaker oats and made pumpkin apple oatmeal.
I added the apples in with the water for the oatmeal so they would be cooked and have a softer texture.
For my oatmeal, I used:
- 1/3 cup Quaker old-fashioned oats
- 2/3 cup water
- 2 oz apple, diced
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin
- dash of pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon
- 1 tsp lite syrup
Once the water was boiling, I added all the ingredients and let it cook for about five minutes. It was the perfect hot breakfast on a chilly morning.
- Elliptical – 20 min.
- Butts and Guts class – 60 min.
At the gym this morning, I signed up for fitness bingo.
Starting in October, every time you workout, you get a stamp. Once you get a Bingo (four stamps in row) you get to turn your card into a drawing for a prize. Should be fun!
I also signed up for Spin class. Most of the classes at my gym are included in the membership price, but there’s a couple, like Spin class, that are a separate fee. I wanted to try something different and I know Spin is challenging so I decided to sign up. Since I’m already a gym member, it was only $16.
So, on Monday nights, Danny is going to have to meet me at the gym to pick up the kids because Spin starts at 5:30 pm, which is when he is normally getting home.
And I also signed up for one more thing – a free preview of a new class that my gym will be offering – H.I.I.T. (high intensity interval training). It’s a new 30 minute class that it also a separate fee. Luckily, they offer a free preview class so you can decide if it’s something you would want to sign up for. The Biggest Loser might be over, but fitness is forever!!! 🙂
I am a huge Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling fan. Like as in I dressed my kids up like Harry Potter and took them out to the store at midnight to get new copies of the Harry Potter books when they were released.
For the record, Jacob won the Harry Potter contest and we got a copy of the book for free.
Anyway, I just found out that J.K. Rowling wrote her first novel for adults, which comes out Thursday.
About the book:
When Barry Fairbrother dies unexpectedly in his early forties, the little town
of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a
cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty
façade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their
parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils….
Pagford is not what it first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the
town’s council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet
seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and
unexpected revelations? Blackly comic, thought-provoking and constantly
surprising, The Casual Vacancy is J.K. Rowling’s first
novel for adults.
I can’t wait to read it!
Questions of the day:
- Are you a Harry Potter fan? I started reading Harry Potter over 12 years ago and I have loved it ever since.
- Did you work out today? Do you belong to a gym?
