Family Bike Ride

Yesterday’s Workout

  • 14 mile bike ride, outside – 1 hour, 12 minutes

Yesterday morning, my family all went over to my grandparent’s house to go on a family bike ride.

Fourteen miles is the longest that I have ever rode on a bike and between Saturday’s boot camp and yesterday’s bike ride, my b-u-t-t is s-o-r-e.

And we’re off!

The bike ride took us about an hour and 12 minutes and there was one hill that was killer.

After our bike ride, we came back to my grandparent’s house to eat lunch and watch the Bears game.

Marlene made an awesome dish called panzanella. I had never heard of it before, but it was delicious.

Recipe via Barefoot Contessa:

I scooped some of the panzanella veggies into a pita pocket along with some cilantro hummus and cheese. The perfect lunch.

And of course, dessert is always the best part. Marlene made a giant thick Bears cookie.

We all made sure to eat our fair share so none of it would go to waste.

Marlene gave me some of the peppers from their garden to take home, but someone tried to steal my peppers.

After we left, we did what any normal family would do, we went and hung out at the Halloween store. Fun times, fun times.

Questions of the day:

  • Favorite thing you ate this weekend?
  • Do you love giant cookies? Favorite kind of cookie?
  • Any plans for today?

We went to steak and shake yesterday after the Volo Auto Museum! Cheeseburger fries and a Hershey’s dark chocolate shake…. So yummy and I know bad! But we only go there once or twice a year! Time for a long walk today!!! Fav cookie? Probably oatmeal raisin or a recipe I have for a cookie called a ranger cookie. It has oats, coconut, and frosted rice krispies in it. It’s a chewy yummy cookie! If u want recipe let me know!

the family bike ride looks like so much fun!!! I wish our extended family members were more active but sadly, they aren’t.

Favorite food this weekend- Balsamic glazed shredded brussel sprouts!!
Cookie- The large cookie cake on your blog is right up my alley!! Yum!!!

  3. What a fun way to get out with your family and incorporate exercise!

Favorite food this weekend: Ehh, maybe a dark chocolate cookie? Is that pitaful. Most of my foods are the same as they are everyday, so I don’t really have a favorite haha.

  4. I really love chocolate chip cookies with M&M’s- they’re the best!

  5. Favorite food? I made pepper, onion and mushroom subs with yellow mustard (kind of like a cheese steak without the steak & cheese). It was great because I made it just for myself! (my wife does NOT eat mushrooms).

  6. Just wanted to let you know that I received the goodies in the mail. Thank for throwing in the kind bar. I have always wanted to try it out. Thanks so much!!

  7. What a fun family activity! It seemed to be a gorgeous weekend countrywide! My girlfriends & I love cookie cake & have a tradition of getting one for everyone’s birthday & making sure it says “Happy 21st birthday….” We are in our 30′s ;)
