- Biggest Loser Workout – 60 minutes
Yesterday’s workout was crazy! There was 21 of us, and we broke up into three teams. Each team had to take turns running to the other side of the gym, grab an index card with an exercise on it, run back to their team and have everyone complete the exercise listed on the card. Some of the exercises included:
- 50 jumping jacks
- 15 squats with a shoulder press
- run around the gym three times
- walking lunges with a twist
- 60 sit-ups
- 30 push-ups
We had to complete each set of cards twice and see which team could do it the fastest. It got a little crazy, but it came down to my team and another team tying. Well, it turns out that there were prizes, but only enough for one team.
So, after a lot of debate, one of the instructors came up with the
not so brilliant idea of having two people from each winning team compete against each other to see who can do the most squat thrusts in thirty seconds. Then, I hear someone yell out, we pick Heather!
What?! I didn’t sign up to do a bunch of squat thrusts after I just kicked my butt working out for an hour. But apparently my team had faith in me, because I ended up competing with a girl on the other team. The girl I competed against was actually the girl that I talk to the most in the Biggest Loser and run with during our 5k prep classes.
I was so nervous because I’m not really a competitive person and I had a whole team of people counting on me to win. It was a lot of pressure, which I made sure to tell everyone. Finally, we did the squat thrusts for thirty seconds, and I think my team could tell I was really struggling at the end because they all starting yelling my name and cheering me on.
The other girl did 21 squat thrusts.
I did 22!! I was so incredibly happy. I almost felt euphoric. Well, first I felt like I was going to die, then I felt elated. I think the best part was that my team wanted me to compete for them and had faith that I would give it my absolute best effort. It was honestly such a great feeling.
My team won resistance tubes so that we can workout anytime, anywhere! There was an extra tube left, so I said the girl I competed against should get it for being such a good sport, and she did. 🙂
Who knew doing squats thrusts and winning a resistance tube would make me so happy?
This morning I had this Greek yogurt that I picked up at Mariano’s last week.
It comes with oats, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, and dried cranberries to mix in. I also threw in some blueberries. It was okay, but not the greatest. I think the granola was slightly stale, and it might have been better if I added a Truvia packet. I probably won’t buy it again.
- Butts and Guts – 60 minutes
I had something for lunch today that I haven’t had in a while – veggie flatbread pizza!
Sometimes, I eat the same thing so much that I get sick of it and don’t eat it for a while. And then I eat it again and it’s delicious! I topped my pizza with sauce, red onion, green pepper, broccoli, and mozzarella cheese.
On the side I had some dried apple crisps. I love that the whole bag is only 39 calories!
I also had some steamed brussels sprouts because who doesn’t love brussels sprouts?! Everyone, right? Sadly, no. No one in my family will touch them. Poor lonely brussels sprouts.
