This weekend was such a whirlwind of craziness and excitement, but luckily everything is pretty much calmed down and back to normal now.
On Friday night, we went to an ice cream social at Jaden’s school.

Then on Friday night/Saturday morning at 2 am, we got the call that my sister-in-law was in labor and at the hospital. It didn’t seem like the baby was coming right then and there, so we tried to get a little more sleep which was hard because we were so excited!
I skipped boot camp Saturday morning, and we got to the hospital about 10 am. My sister-in-law, Mandy, hadn’t progressed much, so we settled down to wait. I started out trying to eat healthy at the hospital:
But as the day progressed, that went out the window. Everyone was drinking coffee and energy drink, eating candy and chips. We went out for pizza. Mandy’s aunt bought everyone McDonald’s late at night. It was a crazy, looonnnnggg day.
The kids fell asleep at the hospital about midnight.
Baby Liam was born about 10 pm Saturday night, but we weren’t able to see him until 12:30 am. Mom and baby were healthy, but everything didn’t go according to plan. I think babies have their own agenda.

We spent 14 hours at the hospital and finally got home close to 2 am. I made the mistake of taking an Advil PM. My stomach was hurting from all the crap I ate all day, and I just wanted to sleep. But whenever I take Advil PM, I am completely out of it the whole entire next day, which isn’t fun.
I woke up about 10:30 am on Sunday morning. I had plans to meet my other sister-in-law and Grandma for lunch, so I rushed to get ready, feeling all crappy and groggy. We meet at Corner Bakery, and luckily they still were serving breakfast paninis, so I had one with egg whites, cheddar, and spinach. Along with three cups of coffee. We had a nice time catching up at lunch.
The rest of the day was kind of blurry. We went back to the hospital to visit with the baby. Then, we stopped for some fro-yo, and when we got home I took a nap until 6pm, which means, of course, that I didn’t fall asleep until after 11 pm last night.
Things are pretty much back to normal today. The kids got off to school, and I went to BodyPump. We did the brand new BodyPump release today, which was a nice change.
Post workout, I had a Atkin’s cranberry almond bar. These bars are so good!
My brother-in-law and sister-in-law didn’t find out the gender of the baby before he was born, so I haven’t been able to buy many clothes. So, after the gym you better believe that I went out to buy the two cutest onesies that ever existed!
In other news, I decided to try to cut out dairy for a week or so. I have been having intense stomach pains lately, and I’m thinking that dairy might be the cause. I can’t believe how much stuff has dairy in it – both my oatmeal and Atkin’s bar had dairy in it, so I am just going to try not to eat straight dairy like milk, cheese, yogurt, etc. to see if it helps.
The milk won’t be a problem because I have never drank cow’s milk anyway – I drink almond milk. Cheese will be harder, but I can deal with it. The hardest part will be the Greek yogurt. I eat one or two Greek yogurts a day and really rely on it as a protein source. I guess that means I’ll have to eat more peanut butter! We’ll see how things go!
