We just got back from spending the weekend in Wisconsin, so this post is going to contain a lot of pictures.
My grandparent’s have a farm in Wisconsin, and we have been going up there every summer since I was a little girl. Now, I get to take my kids up there. It’s nice because it’s such a secluded area so we spend a lot of time relaxing and being outside.
On the way there, I stopped at McDonald’s for a sugar-free iced latte. It was horrible. I’ll stick to the sugar-free iced coffee.
I printed activity sheets for the kids to do on the three and a half hour car ride.
All of us:
There was a lot of us staying there this weekend – Danny, the kids, and I, my brother, sister-in-law, and niece, my mom, and my grandparents. Debbie, a family friend was there too, but she was the one taking the picture.
I had plans to eat healthy. Yeah, plans that pretty much went out the window. It’s so hard when we’re going out to eat or hanging out making s’mores by the campfire or reaching for pretzels or chips. I didn’t make as good as an effort as I should have with eating good, and I might pay for the at my weigh-in tomorrow. But you know what? I had a great time with my family and am glad that I was able to indulge a little bit. Or a lot…
The first night, we went out to dinner. I ordered grilled fish and potato wedges. I didn’t eat the butter.
Then we fed Baby McCutie Sour Face lemons. She loved them.
We spent the rest of the weekend doing normal Wisconsin things. We went to the flea market.
I bought coffee.
We watched a tuba band.
We took pictures with random pictures of pizza guys.
We hung out with creepy clowns.
We went on a search for ugly cupcakes.
We elected Heather.
We ate a lot of delicious corn.
And we let the kids operate heavy machinery.
It was a fun and relaxing weekend, and it was great to see my grandparents and visit with my family. The kids loved it, and Jaden tried to talk me into living there.
Questions of the day:
- Did you go on family vacations as a kid?
- What did you do this weekend?
