Chobani Giveaway

Today’s Workout

  • BodyPump – 60 minutes

BodyPump was tough this morning because my shoulder was really bothering me. I used really light weights during the shoulder track and only did about half of the push-ups that were supposed to do. Hopefully, it will start to feel better soon. It’s not super painful, just annoying.

The people over at Chobani were nice enough to send me a case of their yogurt in a variety of flavors to try out.

Ever since I have discovered Greek yogurt, I have been eating tons of it because it’s so high in protein and a great way to help me meet my protein requirements for the day. I love Chobani because it’s high in protein and has awesome flavors. Chobani has the most variety of flavors than any other Greek yogurt that I’ve tried.

I decided just to eat my way through the case they sent and review them as I go. I wasn’t sure how to pick the first flavor to eat, so I did what any normal five-year old adult would do – I closed my eyes and picked one.

The first one that I picked was vanilla – there is 16 grams of protein in that little cup!! I decided to use the vanilla yogurt to make a fun parfait.

I put in the vanilla Greek yogurt, topped it with some blueberries, added some more yogurt, threw in some peaches and more blueberries, and the topped it off with some granola. It was delicious.

I made the parfait for breakfast yesterday. Today, since I did BodyPump, I wanted to make sure that I ate some protein within 45 minutes of working out, so I grabbed the blood orange flavor to eat. I’ve had this flavor before, but not in a while, and it was as good as I remember.

Chobani has been generous enough to host a giveaway and will send a case to one lucky winner!!

Bonefish Grill and Disappointing Shakes

Yesterday’s Workout

  • 4.02 miles treadmill – 55 minutes

Yesterday morning, I went to the gym and mostly walked on the treadmill, with a little bit of running thrown in. Usually, I take Sundays off, but I felt like after the Muddy Buddy my body needed to continue to move so I wouldn’t be too sore, if that makes any sense. Surprisingly, my shoulders are the most sore. I think it’s from the obstacles. Also, I knew that I would be eating a lot at dinner last night, so I figured at little exercise might help balance that out a bit.

Bonefish Grill

Later in the afternoon, we dropped the kids off at my dad and stepmom’s and headed to Bonefish Grill. I definitely ate a lot last night, but I have been sticking to my daily calorie needs pretty good lately, so I don’t think one day is going to hurt me. We’ll see what the dietician says when I turn my food journal in though.

Danny thinks he’s cool because he can lift one eyebrow. I tried it. I can’t do it.

We started out with warm bread dipped in olive oil.

Bread is one of my favorite foods. I try to eat it in moderation because I could eat that whole warm and delicious loaf of bread.

Next, we had Caesar salads. I like Caesar salads, but why is it the one salad that gets stuck with only croutons as a topping? I rarely order it because I feel like it’s just lettuce with a few croutons thrown on top. I do love the dressing though.

I ordered the lobster roll.

It came on thick toasted bread (more bread!) and was served with homemade chips. It was really good. It had big chunks on lobster and the chips were awesome.

Danny had the salmon with lemon butter. I had a bite and the lemon butter was amazing.

Afterwards, we were too stuffed to eat dessert, so we walked around for a bit and then decided to stop for shakes on the way back to my dad’s house. We stopped at Steak N Shake and got two of the worst shakes ever.

I ordered the peanut butter cup shake.

Don’t let the picture fool you, it was horrible. For some reason, the shakes tasted like a hint of banana. It wasn’t a banana shake, but you could taste banana, and I don’t like banana at all. Also, there was just a few peanut butter cups thrown on top and that was it. Danny’s shake wasn’t good either, just not what we expected especially from a shake place.

We drank a few sips, and then saved them to give to the kids because kids will drink any kind of shake. Then, we stopped at the store to pick up some Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food instead. Now that was good. It’s been so long since I’ve had Phish Food, so it was a nice little treat.

Questions of the day:

  • Do you like seafood? What’s your favorite?
  • Any workouts planned for today?
  • Do you like Ben and Jerry’s ice cream? Favorite flavor?
