Muddy Buddy 2012

We did it! We completed the Muddy Buddy!

We woke up at about 5:00 am this morning and left the house by 5:30 am. When we got there, we had no problem picking up our packet. We got bibs, timing chips, a number for our helmet, and a number forĀ our bike. Thanks Grandpa and Marlene for letting us borrow a bike!

My dad made everyone’s helmets, and they turned out awesome. He’s available for hire if needed…

I spent all day yesterday making a pink tutu to wear with my pig helmet.

The four of us doing the race:

With my grandpa:

Marlene and Katie:

The course was hilly, bumpy, challenging, and congested, but tons of fun! We ran/bikedĀ 6.3 miles with seven obstacles, finishing up with the giant mud pit. I don’t know our official time, but I believe that it was 1:07. I think that Katie and Marlene finished in under an hour. Everyone did an awesome job!

And we’re off!

My dad got some great pictures of us doing the final obstacles.

And the mud pit:

We did it!

After the race:

Thank you to my dad and grandpa for coming out to support us and to take pictures. Love you guys! And thanks to NuunĀ for supplying us with our race bibs, t-shirts, water bottle, and Nuun!

After the race, Danny and I headed to PaneraĀ and Starbucks. He had Panera, and I had Starbucks. We picked up the kids, and headed home. I was so exhausted by the time we got home that I, much to Danny’s dismay, climbed my dirty self right into our bed and went to sleep. I promised I’d wash the sheets later.

Danny mowed the lawn. Freakin overachiever. :) I’m thinking about taking another nap…

  3. What a fun race! Is this the one in Gilbert IL?
Your coustumes are so cute! We are doing a team mud run next month and we definitely need to get moving on our coustume prep!

    • Yup, it was in Gilberts. I bought my tutu material yesterday and spent all day making it – I should have planned ahead! Can’t wait to hear about your costumes!

      • I just might need a tutu for my race. I don’t know if I have time to make one, but I will have to see what I can find at the Walmart. Most of my team is boys so we prob won’t be so colorful : )

  4. Ah, looks like so much fun! Congrats for finishing the course too! Love your little tutu. You look adorable girl <3
