Last night we went out to dinner at the Weber Grill. The kids loved the giant grill in front of the restaurant.
My stepbrother’s birthday was last month, so this was also a belated birthday celebration for him.
I ordered a cold salmon salad.
Those are beets in the middle. Beets are not delicious. I tried them, and I didn’t like them at all. I’ve had golden beets before which weren’t that bad, but these beets didn’t want to be in my mouth at all. The rest of the salad was really good.
After dinner, we came back to our house for a giant cookie cake, a bonfire, and s’mores.
I also added my sister-in-law, Mandy, to that cookie because her birthday was Friday. We have so many May and June birthdays. And thanks to my other sister-in-law, Crystal, for writing all the names on the cookie. I wasn’t sure if I could handle it!
We had a really great night just sitting around the fire and talking. I’m really glad that so much of our family was able to come over last night.
This morning, Danny, the kids, and I met my dad, stepmom, brother, sister-in-law, and niece at a local fishing derby so that the boys could fish.
It was nicely set up – the kids got a goody bag and there was a light breakfast of bagels, donuts, pastries, lemonade, and juice.
Everyone had a fun time fishing, but the fish weren’t really biting which was disappointing. My brother was the only one who caught a fish.
The girls did hung out in the shade, although we did hold the fishing poles for a bit.
After the derby was over, we went out for lunch and fro-yo. I promise that I am going to eat every single meal in this week. Then, Danny and I came home and slept for two hours. We were exhausted! Back to work tomorrow.
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there. A special happy father’s day to my dad, my hubby, my brother (his first one!), and my father-in-law. I love you all!
Questions of the day:
- Beets: Yum or Gross?
- Do you enjoy fishing? I find it a tad bit boring…
- Did you do anything special for Father’s Day?
