What I Learned From my First Zumba Class:
- I can’t dance to save my life.
- I have no rhythm at all. None.
- It was the funnest workout I’ve ever done.
Yesterday morning, I took my first Zumba class. A few weeks ago, my gym added a Zumba class right after my BodyPump class. Normally, I can’t take it because I have to pick the kids up from the kid’s room after BodyPump. But since Danny had the day off yesterday, I was able to stay.
The Zumba class was so much fun. I can’t dance at all, but I still had a great time. And it went by so fast. When the class was over, I couldn’t believe how fast the hour sped by. It was very fast paced with some dances moves that I couldn’t do, but when in doubt, I just jumped around, that way I still looked like I was doing something.
I would definitely take the class again, I just don’t think that it’ll be a weekly thing because it’s offered at a bad time for me.
Later in the afternoon, Danny and I dropped the kid’s off at my mom’s house so that we could have a fun date night. The kid’s had so much fun at my mom’s. She took them to a BMX bike demonstration, and Jacob was picked as a volunteer to do a bike trick and their names were mentioned in a local newspaper. The kids were so excited!
Danny and I stayed at the Hotel Arista. (That’s our room all the way at the top!)
I found a great package online.
When we checked in, there were two weddings going on, so they upgraded us to a two room king corner suite on the top floor so the hustle and bustle of the weddings would bother us. Or maybe they were just worried that we’d sneak into the reception…
The room was beautiful with three flat screen tvs, including one in the bathroom mirror, and ceiling to floor windows. After we put our stuff away, we headed to a local outlet mall to use our $40 gift cards that were included in the package. Danny spent his at Under Armour, and I spent mine at Nike on a white zippered sweatshirt.
The good thing about buying a long-sleeved sweatshirt in summer is that it was on sale. I’m sure it won’t last too long before I spill something on it.
After shopping, we came back to the room and changed for dinner.
We went to The White Chocolate Grill. We ordered from the “date night” menu which includes one appetizer, two entrees, and one dessert. We started with the artichoke and spinach dip.
Then I had the grilled salmon with broccoli. Danny had the NY strip with mashed potatoes.
But the best part was dessert. We had their famous white chocolate brownie which was the best part of the meal.
We back to the hotel room stuffed. About an hour later, the hotel delivered a complimentary wine and cheese plate.
Danny and stayed up until about 1 am watching Storage Wars on A&E. Have you ever see this show before? We just watched it for the first time last week and are addicted! There has been a marathon of it on A&E, so we’ve watched about 20 episodes in the past few days.
This morning we woke up and ordered breakfast which was included in our hotel package. I had the Greek yogurt with berries and granola.
I tried to eat healthy, but Danny ordered delicious looking French toast, and I ate a bunch of that. It was so good.
Tonight, we’re going out to dinner with my family to the Weber Grill. I am scared to weigh myself lately because I know that I have gained a few pounds from eating out so much, but after tonight the long run of eating out ends and life can go back to normal!!
Questions of the day:
- Do you have a favorite hotel? Favorite restaurant?
- Have you ever seen storage wars?
- Have you ever snuck into someone else’s wedding reception?
- What’s the best dessert you’ve ever had?
