I Eat, I Workout, I Read

Yesterday’s Workout

  • Yoga-Lates – 60 minutes

Yoga-lates is not easy. Before I ever took yoga, I assumed that it was nice, easy, and relaxing. Not the case. The yoga-lates class that I take focuses a lot on the Pilates part, so we do a lot of ab work including tons of sits up and planks. I should have abs of steel any day now…

When I got home, Jaden wanted to show me his brand-new bike that Danny just finished building for him. Now, we just have to work on getting rid of the training wheels.

Breakfast

Breakfast was a bit boring this morning. I had Greek yogurt and a peach that I found hidden in my fridge. I always buy produce and then stick it in the drawers in the fridge and then forget it’s there. I guess I should either open those drawers more or put the food on the shelf where I can see it.

I love that this peach still has the little leaf attached. It’s the little things in life…

This morning was a little bit off schedule because Jaden had an appointment at the allergy doctor. We were there for almost an hour and half, and I was getting bored out of my mind. Luckily, I found a cookie recipe in Shape magazine to try out.

Today’s Workout

  • 3 miles treadmill (2:3 run/walk ratio)

After the allergy doctor, we went to the gym, and I did a quick 3 miles before the kid’s room closed and I had to pick up the kids. I did more of an interval workout today – I ran faster than my normal pace for two minutes and then recovered with 3 minutes of walking for three miles. I was nice and sweaty by the time I was done.

Lunch

I stopped by the grocery store to pick up some strawberries for my salad, but they all looked nasty. Why is finding good strawberries so hard? Maybe I’m picky, but I hate the bruised, yucky looking strawberries. I found some nice, fat grapes and bought those for my salad instead.

In today’s salad was:

  • spinach
  • grapes
  • blueberries
  • honey roasted almond slivers (not as good as the pecans)
  • poppy seed dressing

Delicious.

Tonight is my final weigh-in. I can’t believe that 10 weeks went by so fast. I have a good feeling about this week. Hopefully everything goes good. Besides being weighed, I’ll also get my measurements taken so I can see how many inches I’ve lost. I never take my measurements myself at home, but one of the girls in the class said that she takes her on a weekly basis.

In other happenings…I just started reading Drop Dead Healthy by A.J. Jacobs for Julie’s book club. Even though I’m only a few chapters in, I would recommend this book. It’s well-written and funny. Watch for my review coming soon.

Questions of the day:

  • Is your fridge organized?
  • Are you picky about picking out produce?
  • Are you reading any books right now?
  • How old were you or you child when rode without training wheels?

My husband gets frustrated with our fridge about once a month an totally organizes it and cleans it. We are very picky about produce too. Just started The Book Theif for book club. My kids were all late to learn to ride. Our youngest is 8 and is terrified. This summer we are committed to teach her to ride.

  2. Good luck at weigh in tonight. And that salad looks delish!

I am super picky about produce!!! And my fridge is small so it has to be organized to get it all in after a big shopping trip! FYI I bought sugar free fudge sickles today and pretty good taste for only 40 calories!! Brendan rode around 5 and the girls around 7-8. Lol
