Sorry About Your Face

After I made my coffee this morning, I went outside to take a picture and these little ducky guys were hanging out in our backyard. We’ve never had ducks in our back yard before, and I think I got a little too excited. I kept yelling at Danny to come look, and he probably thought we had bags of money all over the back yard with how excited I was being. When in reality, it was just two ducks. I don’t care. I like ducks. I’m trying to think of ways to make them my friends.

Then, my dad came over to my house early this morning to show me his swollen face. His whole face is swollen from the eye all the way down to his mouth. He originally thought it was a tooth problem but it turns out that it’s some infection related to the chicken pox virus. He goes to the doctor this afternoon, and hopefully everything will be okay and he can get some antibiotics.

He came over so that I could take a picture of his face for my blog. I’m not even joking. When he got here, he said well, where’s your camera. For some reason, he thinks I have a weird swollen face blog rather than a healthy living blog. The things we do for our parents.

After he left, I dropped Jacob off at school, and headed to the gym for Butts and Guts class. We used hand weights and a body bar in class today. I used a 15 pound body bar and paddled with it like I was in a boat. I love the new moves that the instructor comes up with each class.

After my workout, I had overnight oats topped with fresh strawberries.

Lunch

I made a yummy lunch this afternoon. I used a 100 calorie pita pocket and filled it with lots of salad and dressing. I also had steamed broccoli, pineapple, and strawberries. Which reminds me that need to pick up some watermelon today. I like strawberries, but lately I have been loving watermelon.

Questions of the day:

  • Are your parents normal?
  • Do you like ducks?
  • What’s for lunch today?

  1. Your dad sounds like my dad – that’s something my dad would do, come over and then want me to take his picture!!

My parents are not normal. My mom was thrilled I was going to include her in my blog yesterday. I imagine they’ll both be suggesting I include them when they visit later this month! I’m sure they’ll be hamming it up big time, it’ll be fun!

I do like ducks. Took a picture of one just last week!

Lunch is Amy’s Organic Chunky Vegetable soup with a side of carrots. :-)

  2. Amy

My Mil had duck as pets until the raccoon got them.

  3. Oh no!! Hopefully your dad is doing a little better. I honestly don’t think my dad even knows I have a blog lol.

  4. I love ducks! My lunch was a delicious leftover sandwich from a restaurant and half of a slice of banana bread topped with apples, strawberries, bananas, and walnuts!

  5. OMG! I hope your dad feels better now! It’s sounds bad.
I know what you mean, I would be as same excited as you about little ducks in garden. Yesterday we was in park and we saw 3 little bunnies, I just couldn’t not be super excited about those babes.
    Keep up the good work!

    xoxo Ra
