An Old Love

Last night for dinner, I made a maple-glazed salmon salad with honey mustard dressing. I made the same maple-glazed salmon that I made the other night and just threw it on my salad.

I topped it with Annie’s lite honey mustard dressing. My salad also included romaine lettuce, red & green pepper, red onions, and cucumbers.

We went to Target yesterday, and I stocked up on Vita muffin tops. I actually had the chocolate ones from a previous trip, but now my freezer is stocked.

I couldn’t decide between the pumpkin spice and apple crumb, so I just got both. I usually eat one of these after dinner because I always crave something sweet, and these are only 100 calories, but I think I’m going to start eating them for breakfast.

Also at Target, I ran into an old love affair that I haven’t seen since 8th grade.

That’s right – my old love affair is a Lip Smacker. And not just any Lip Smacker, a Dr. Pepper Lip Smacker. I haven’t had a Lip Smacker since 8th grade, but my mom gave Jaden a root beer flavored one, and I was jealous.

Then I found out that my sister-in-law had a Dr. Pepper flavored one, and I was even more jealous. I had to buy my own. Do you remember Lip Smackers? They were all the rage when I was in grade school and junior high. It smells so good that I want to eat it.

If there’s a tiny bite missing, it wasn’t me. Just kidding, I don’t eat Lip Smackers that’s just weird. Nom, nom.

For breakfast this morning, I had a pumpkin spice muffin top and a Chobani Champions orange vanilla yogurt.

Yes, I know that the Chobani Champion yogurts are for kids, but I figured if I’m buying Lip Smackers then I should have no problem buying kid’s yogurt.

The pumpkin spice muffin top was really good. It reminded me of fall time. The only thing that would have made it better was chocolate chips. Pumpkin and chocolate chips is one of my favorite combos.

This morning, I’m headed to the gym for Butts and Guts class, and then I have a physical therapy appointment. Have a great day!

Questions of the day:

  • Did you ever own a lip smacker? What was your favorite flavor? I loved the watermelon flavor.
  • Have you ever had a Vita muffin top? Favorite flavor?
  • Do you ever buy food made for kids?
  • What’s your favorite food combo?

  1. I love Dr. Pepper lip smackers. I love Dr. Pepper Jelly Bellys too. Also, I love the Chobani kids mixed berry yogurt. I hate Vita Muffins. They taste like crap to me. (Well, I’ve only tried the chocolate ones.)
