It was so beautiful out yesterday, that Danny and I took turns riding my brother’s bike (which we’ve pretty much confiscated) with the kids. Sorry, Paul.
Then, after dinner we got some Dairy Queen blizzards. I always get the same blizzard – chocolate ice cream with peanut butter cups and Snickers. I’m sure it’s only about 2 billion calories.
My calf was pretty sore and tight after running outside yesterday. I could hardly walk up the stairs, so I made sure to use the foam roller before I went to bed.
My calf was still extremely sore and very tight when I woke up today. I don’t think that running outside yesterday was the best idea, but I had no idea that it was going to bother me this much. I decided to start icing it, because the foam rolling wasn’t doing much.
I bought this ice pack about a year and a half ago when I detached my rib cartridge. I love it because you just velcro the ice pack where ever you need it, and then go about your business.
Even though my calves were sore, I decided to still go to BodyPump. I used lighter weights today and hardly did the squats and lunges. I mostly just stood there and squatted about two inches. I’m sure that the lady behind me thought that I was being a lazy bum, but I don’t want to make my calves any worse.
After BodyPump, I had a Horizon chocolate milk, which I packed into my new mini cold bag. It’s supposed to be for sandwiches, but I stuffed an ice pack and my chocolate milk into it.
When I got home, I decided to call the doctor about my calves. The chiropractor office that I originally wanted to go to didn’t accept my insurance, so I just had to pick a Sports Medicine doctor from my insurance website. I have an appointment Thursday morning. I have a feeling that they’re going to tell me to take it easy on the running, obviously there’s very something wrong with my calves and probably Achilles tendon. That’s going to suck because I am supposed to start the Walk 2 Run program on Saturday, and I have three 5ks coming up! We’ll see how it goes.
Lunch today was the norm – a bagelwich with pretzel sticks, and veggies. I know, I know. It gets boring, but it’s fast, easy, and I like it.
Tomorrow, I’m going to get the stitches in my back taken out. I was finally brave enough to take a little peek, and they still look pretty infected to me. Danny even said that it looks like my skin is growing over the stitches. That is the grossiest and creepiest thing that I have ever heard (which is why I’m sharing it with you). I’m like Dr. Frankenstein’s monster.
Questions of the day:
- Have you ever been to a sports doctor/chiropractor? How was your experience?
- What was your workout today?
- What’s your favorite ice cream/frozen yogurt?
