I went to my first fitness class on a Saturday this morning – PiYo. It is described by the park district activity guide:
Energize your morning with awakening yoga and strengthening Pilates combined.
Pretty much the exact same thing as Yoga-Lates, only using a different mix of the letters in yoga and Pilates. They’re creative, I’ll tell ya. Yoga-Lates. PiYo. Boggles my mind.
This morning’s class was a bit more energizing than the night-time class and was still done in the dark.
I didn’t have any coffee before class, because I just kind of rolled out of bed and left the house. So, after dreaming about coffee during yoga, I stopped at got some Dunkin Donuts coffee on the way home. Maybe I’m a little addicted to coffee, but at least I admit it.
The ” I just rolled out of bed, didn’t put on any make-up or brush my hair, post-yoga” look. Email for tips on how to perfect this look.
Thanks to the tip from Tina’s Blog, I went to Target looking for the new Chobani Greek yogurt flavors. I found three new flavors – passion fruit, apple cinnamon, and blood orange. Why the word blood is used to describe a food I’ll never understand.
I had the blood orange flavor as a snack, and it is my favorite flavor out of all the Chobani flavors so far. Not bloody. Delicious.
I also picked up two Fage Greek yogurts that were on sale and two Dannon yogurts. I’m stocked on yogurt for a while.
So, yesterday my mom calls me and says, Oh, I just wanted to let you know that I’m leaving work at noon today. And by the way, I was reading about your breathing problems on your blog, and I just wanted to mention that you have a heart murmur that I never told you about. That could be a factor.
What? Seriously? You waited this late in my life to tell me this? Any other important medical problems that I should know about?!
Seriously though, she just forgot about it because it wasn’t a serious heart murmur, and reading about my breathing problems reminded her of it. I thought it was kind of funny actually.
I’m tried googling it, but couldn’t find too much information. I’m not sure if there’s a connection between asthma and heart murmurs but the lungs and heart do work closely together. I think I’ll just mention it next time I go to the doctor.
Thanks mom, for bringing my heart murmur to my attention. 12 years later. I hope I don’t die.
Thankfully, this weekend is pretty laid back. We have no set plans, which is nice for a change. But that means that I might have to get started on that New Year’s resolution of cleaning my room. Maybe I can talk the kids into seeing Chipwrecked.

Your mom is funny..you would think it would be something she would have mentioned when you pregnant?
Anyway..I was out spending all sorts of money and saw the Aldi in Glen Ellyn has fresh blackberries for $.69 and they have their own greek yogurt for $.39. I have no idea how good it is, because I dislike yogurt
Thanks, I’ll have to check it out. Greek yogurt for .39 cents is awesome!
Aldi is so awesome.. I miss living near one.
Have you tried the apple cinnamon yogurt yet?
I love the apples and cinnamon flavor combination in general, but it seems like it wouldn’t work for yogurt. And I just noticed that I’m beginning to use British English spellings.. proof that I’ve been living outside the US for too long.
Random question for you, Heather – how do you take your coffee?
I actually just tried the apple cinnamon. I wasn’t to excited about it because I felt the same way you do – not really a yogurt flavor. But it was really good – one of my favorite so far. I use cream and Truvia in my coffee.
