Out of Cookies – Send More

This morning after I dropped the kids off at school, I hauled my butt to Dunkin Donuts for some much-needed coffee.

Why yes, you will see me soon…probably in an hour for a refill.

After coffee and a little Christmas shopping, I picked up Jaden from preschool, and we took my niece over to the hospital so I could visit my brother and she could see her dad.

My brother is doing pretty good and should hopefully be home in the next couple of days. Then I have to give Baby McCutie Sweetie Pie back. Boo.

My dad was there too. He’s not a doctor…he just plays one on tv.

When I got home from the hospital, my last dozen cookies from the cookie swap were on my front porch. I love that they’re always waiting for me when I get home from somewhere.

These cookies were from Tiffany and they were snickerdoodles. Those are one of my favorites cookies and I ate two immediately…then I had one more. They were so soft and full of cinnamon. I want another one just talking about them…

And she actually sent the same card that Christine did. Isn’t that funny?

She also sent the cookies in an adorable stocking, which was a nice touch.

And that concludes the cookie swap for this year. I’m kind of sad. I want more cookies. Thank you to all three ladies who sent me cookies – they were delicious! My recipe post for my cookies will be going up on December 12th.

After eating too many cookies, I decided to have something healthy to balance it out. I snacked on carrots, red & green peppers, and pretzels with hummus.

Hope you’re all having a good afternoon!

Sometimes life throws you a curveball. And what do you do? You step up to bat.

My brother is sick and has to be hospitalized for a few days. The only baby-safe car that my brother and sister-in-law have is out of commission. So, what did I do? I stepped up to bat. I have been watching my infant niece for the past few days. Luckily, she is an amazing baby. A baby who slept ten whole hours last night. Jeesh, neither one of my kids ever did that. They still don’t.

And having an infant around means a slight shift in plans. My son had a doctor appointment yesterday, so she had to be fed and changed before we left. She tanks those bottles down, so that’s no problem. And my son did end up having an ear infection.

And having an infant around means no morning Body Pump. I’m not sure how’d they react if I walked in with a baby. Hey guys, we’re here to pump some iron!

So, I decided to go to Body Pump last night instead of this morning. I went to Body Pump Monday morning, so I wasn’t sure if it was enough rest in between. But it was the only other day that I could go this week. And it was at least 36 hours between classes, so I figured that I’d be fine.

There was a guy in Body Pump when I walked in. This was definitely something new since it’s just a smaller park district class that’s all women. Well, he lasted half of the class and then called it quits.

I felt bad for him, but at the same time I was like hell yeah, I can get through Body Pump and this manly man over here can’t. Hopefully he was fine because he walked out at the triceps track and never came back. Those triceps are a killer, man.

Photos by Jaden. After his food, I’m his second favorite thing to photograph.

After I got home from Body Pump, we started decorating the Christmas tree. And watching Home Alone, because nothing screams Christmas like Home Alone.

Danny put up half the lights before we realized that we didn’t have enough lights to cover the whole tree. So, we had to stop decorating until we can get more lights. I’m not sure what happened to the rest of them. Maybe they burned out last year and we got rid of them. I don’t remember, but I do remember our tree had full lights last year.

This morning my niece woke up at 5am ready to play. No, it’s not play time. It’s sleepy time. No such luck. Then my son woke up at 5:30am because his ear hurt. I foresee a lot of coffee in my future.

Since I was up early I made potatoes with olive oil, garlic, and onions. I also had a bagel thin with egg whites, Muenster cheese, and orange marmalade.

I’m off to do a little Christmas shopping the morning since both kids will be at school.

Have a great day.
