We Got a Christmas Tree

Want to know what not to do when your just getting over an illness? Go out in the rain, cold, and mud for hours looking for a Christmas tree. But since I’m a rulebreaker, I went trudging though the mud & rain to find the perfect tree.

And that picture isn’t the actual perfect tree…it’s just one that looked lonely.

Want to know how to test to make sure your saw is sharp enough? Test it out on your arm. My dad obviously didn’t test it very good since it took Danny 20 minutes just to cut an inch through the tree trunk. My dad and Danny finally admitted defeat and went to get a new saw. Which worked.

Want to know what Danny looks like covered in mud from cutting down the perfect Christmas tree for 30 minutes? Like this:

Want to know how to take a picture of your dad and the lady in the background wearing the same shirt without anyone knowing? Pretend like your taking a picture of his snowman cookie.

Want to know what was waiting on my front porch when I got home? More cookies from strangers!

These coconut chocolate chippies were from Kathleen at The Daily Crumb. And they were awesome. I loved how the coconut flavor wasn’t too overpowering and I love anything with chocolate. I also believe I tasted oatmeal, but I’ll have to wait until she posts the recipe to find out.

And how sweet is Kathleen to send all these extra goodies?! Fuzzy socks. Yes, please. And yes, that is Ghirardelli peppermint bark you see. And no, I am not sharing.

Have a great day!
